Is Queen Elizabeth Country Park worth a visit for a ride? It's a 90 min drive from here.

Recently done the the three peaks in Surrey Hills which was excellent, and the Seven Sisters cliffs followed by Fristen forest which was pretty good but not as good as Surrey.

I used to enjoy riding there when I was working in Fareham and staying there during the week but I wouldn't say it's worth a 90 minute drive. I'd take my bike if I had cause to go that way, but wouldn't make a special trip.

It's great, but best if you can ride with someone who knows all the trails, there are some sensitivities around when/what to ride.

I'm there some evenings and early on some Sundays if that helps!

Dont expect Surrey Hills amount of trails. More Swinley. In fact less if you are just following the marked trails. Its great fun if you explore or know where to go - You can make a good 20miles 3500ft clinmbing if you know here to go. Strava might help 😉

Could always add in stoughton downhill as it's not far away.

I looked up the red route on google so made that on Strava. It's only 6 miles but happy to do 4 or 5 laps.

The official trails are manicured and suitable for all abilities, similar to Swinley but with actual elevation. Part of the red descent is closed at the moment but I prefer the blue anyway which is tame but you can get some good speed on it. The trail builders do a really good job given what they're got to work with. Similar to Swinley you will have to navigate between novice riders and families on weekends.

I would say it's worth the occasional trip if you can make a full day of it and/or if you're willing to explore some of the cheekier stuff. Don't expect more of Surrey Hills though or anything too gnar. There are some quite steep, natural trails if you look for them.

Also.... its on the South Downs Way!! so can link up a bit of classic cross country yomping with some trail centre action. Admittedly its maybe not the best bit(heading east anyway) but still worth a look)

The blue trail is great while the red has seen better days. Still worth riding but a little eroded and less fun than the blue. As someone said the end of it was closed for maintenance, not sure if is been completed yet.

As already said you have the two main trails, which are the red and blue plus lots of unofficial/sensitive stuff within and just outside of the park

Stoughton downhill is just a 10 minute drive away and so is Rogate downhill (B1ke membership needed)

Also you have the Southdown's running through the park, Ive got a nice 25 mile XC loop starting and finishing at the park that has 40mph downhill sections and takes in Stoughton downhill/Kingley Vale

Its well worth a visit but you really do need to be with someone who knows where and when to ride the sensitive areas

at the moment, with moderate fitness you can do the official blue and part red in under an hour.
you want to go with a guide 😉 there's a good few hours more riding there if you know
lookup mtb fanatics on facebook, we are up there all the time
