I've just been reading a thread I put up the other day about hidden gems around the Great Wood area: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/quantock-hidden-gems
I don't think anyone mentioned the run down through the trees, it's hard to explain where it starts, but it comes out on the Motorway, and if you have the guts (which I don't), it goes over the motorway and down towards Great Wood Camp.
It starts in the woods, after going down the fire road and boggy track that heads off just after you would go off left down to the start if the Chimney. The first bit has a few berms and jumps in it and the second half is even more hardcore. I tend to just ride the first part and then join the motorway but there is an alternative exit there now which is perfect for a cross country boy like me. I'm gonna try it out this Thursday as it's only been there a week or so apparently!
Has anyone tried it?
