Morning All,
I fancy exploring the Quantocks, seems to be the nearest "proper" mountain biking to me (Trowbridge).
Does anyone know of any clubs around there that would be willing to let me tag along?

No real clubs to speak of, we had one based at Ralph Colman cycles years ago but trying to organise MTBers was too much like hard work. 😉
There a few different loose groups that tend to go certain days/nights of the week, maybe someone from one of those will pipe up.
My advice would be to get a map do some proper exploring, there's loads of bridleways for starters.
