Heard somewhere that you need a shadow rear derailer for this frame to clear the chainstay pivot, is this correct?
I know the front derailer needs to take the cable from above ie top pull but can you use either a top clamp or bottom clamp model

I think you're right, you do either need a Shimano shadow rear mech or I was using a SRAM one which are fine also.

Can't remember what front mech I had on. It was an SLX of some description.

Mine has a high clamp - I've just looked and think a mid clamp will be fine, but not a low clamp. I also have a shadow rear mech.

And wow, it is light!!
