Hi, Might be a daft question but I have a MTB with a QR rear hub. I am looking at some mavic xa wheels which can convert from 142x12 to QR. Could I also get a kit that can let me use them in my Arkose which is 135x12? One is running 9 speed and the other 11 speed.
Yes if you can find some in stock somewhere, mavic did make them, the nukeproof generator 3 in 1 hub used to come with adapters for thru axle 142,135 and qr. Same hub shell for all 3, hub shell only changes for boost version.

Bike24 are good for Mavic spares, they should have 135 end caps.
I've got the Mavic XA and have been impressed with them. Good hub engagement, not too heavy and nice and wide (check they fit your frame). 24 spokes hasn't been an issue.
You've probably worked out that they come with 135 QR adapters.
