Again, I must echo the round of thanks already given!

I've ridden a few of these race formats, and despite the 'volunteer'/'not for profit' ethos of the whole thing, it appears to have been the best run and most fun endure I've done!

The trails were absolutely cracking, and of a decent length too!
According to my strava run, it seems the 4th section was circa ten minutes long! It can't be?!

Cracking weather, cracking vibe, and lots of smiles all round! It's funny to think there were NO trails, just wood, a few months ago!

Cheers again

DrP - #20, in the sweaty, non-wicking Hawaiian shirt!

It was quality - I slid out and fell off loads of times, cursed my weak legs and swore at the top of my lungs, then wanted to do it again.

Big thanks to you all for putting it on.

Love the photos.. I think I might actually pass a tenner that chap's way! (Mainly because he had the courtesy to move from his position on the practice run after I told him he'd distracted me 🙂 )

Awesome day, i'm pretty shattered now though-quiet day at work ahead me thinks:-)
Great meeting a lot of faces and glad the trails held up so well, they were certainly challenging in the loose dry conditions:-)

still buzzing off yesterday (if a bit bruised in places)

yup the not-for-profit collective put on a better effort than several other series

socialism trumps the private sector once again!

It was fantastic, really enjoyable and I am completely broken... Will the results be online soon? I had to leave straight after....

Result by Tuesday but that not my bit so i can't make that happen any quicker 😉

a near head on with a couple of Network Rail vans (!? - think they had a depot up the fireroad)
They were accessing the railway for maintenance. Its really had to find out when they are working in the area. I spoke to them and when they can back we marshalled them though.

Oh and if anyone wants to ride a race report from rider point of view that would be great, will try and get it up on STW main page. Big mac said The collective can use his pic for stuff like that.

Just want to say a huge thanks to Scott and all the Collective for an amazing days biking, and impeccably organised.

I've never done anything like that before but had a great time, everyone was really friendly and laid back - not like the shouty stress heads you get at xc races! Managed to crash twice - bottom of S4 in practice (but made it in the race!) and S3 I think on a loose corner. Very glad Pete from the Collective lent me his spare pads, but still a bit sore today!

Can we do it again next weekend? 😉

40th out of 80 in sport, couldn't be more mid-pack (I'm ignoring the DNF's and DNS's for mid-pack kudos).

Reckon the Big Mac photos are better than the Roots and Rain ones, better priced too!

Want to do another one now!

Bang on! Thank god the results came out I couldn't bear the tension!

They seem good to me so hats off to the organisers is not often you get chilled fun event, good organisation and good timing.

Looking at the results it is motivating me to get a turbo trainer! I was up there after stage 1 but couldn't cope with the pedalling!

We need more of these type of events. After being "retired" from dh racing for a while I can feel the racing bug returning.

Also looking at roots and rain (amazing website) in five years of dh I actually raced for an hour and a half on Sunday I nearly did a third of that!

An awesome day from all the collective guys from yesterday. Hopefully be riding one next year instead of taking photographs of you all.

Speaking of which all the photos from the race I took can be seen here

Bah! My usual mid-pack performance, just like the old XC days! Still if I hadn't screwed up stage 2 I would've been high mid-pack instead of low mid-pack!

Saw you on stage 4 you looked smooth just before you wiped out on the flat, non technical off camber section....!!

FTFY!!

Scott/QECP collective et all - The more I think about it, Sunday really was one of the best racing events I've been to in a long time! You really should be proud. The tracks were fantastic - catered for both novices and those who wanted to push themselves that bit more.... Nothing was 'stupid big', but was challenging enough (at speed, or if you chose the harder route) to be great fun and keep you on your toes!!
Thanks again!

What's the crack with the trails you built, are they to remain open or were they just for the race? Be well worth another trip up there

I couldnt make the start, but my place went to one of the lads in my village mtb group. He won the U18, and came 37th overall including Pro!! 3 years ago he stated riding with us on his mums Raleigh, and I could beat him up and down anything. Now I eat his dust!!

Why is his wheel doing that?

I had a crash about 1/2 way down stage 4 and taco'd the wheel

by jumping on it lots i got it straight enough to ride all was going ok

until that steep bit at the bottom and it folded on me again a few seconds after that pic I was flying thru the air to land stylishly on my head and shoulder

Nae Bad! 2nd in Sport and 5th Overall, well chuffed with that!

Definitely getting myself entered into some more enduro, done two now and they have been great fun, i think the whole relaxed uphill getting to natter with people is what makes the races a lot more fun...

Spotted myself falling off as in the photo above. FFS. At least you can't see my face in the vid.....
Also saw my portly ginger chum getting down the same bit with rear wheel hops and someone shouts "yeah!". He doesn't come on here. I'm not telling him.

DC cycles who made the vid were base at the race village. That's why there is so much footage from around that area.

Hopefully the Collective vid will have more of the track in it. 😀

kimbers I was on the Fat Bike! I just about survived but came off twice on stage 4, once on the off camber section and just before the finish as per earlier photo (great shot by the way). Loved the event though but I only entered coz the wife had a stall there www.beerbabe.co.uk selling her 'Up-Cycled' bike stuff. I actually enjoyed all the climbing even on a 1 X 10, turned it into a 2 X 10 now as we did Twentyfour12 on the Fattys a week later. Results, I think I was 38th in class, so no where near last! amazing...
