Anyone from here racing the QECP Enduro tomorrow?
Me!!!! Certainly not going to win it, but it should be fun!
It's my first ever race, btw.

And I'll be riding this - I think!!
I wont be winning either, especially not in sport class.. I'll keep an eye out for the santa cruz, I'll be on a grey transition covert
This thread is making me even more sad than the Hampshire riding one, as I'm not doing it 🙁
Good luck everyone.
@chris - is that a 2010/11 model, I test rode a grey one before I got my 2012 (in white)
Yes - anyone know if we have to pay for parking?
Me too - number 34 on a smurf-blue Five 🙂
First night ride in a long time, definitely not expecting to be anything approaching quick! Looking forward to it though - the daytime one last summer was great.
Not sure about parking, am camping on Sat night so assuming not.
Is the race held in the park or where the last enduro was?
In the park - part of the cyclefest thing this time:

Hargroves demo weekend too...

Ill be on this, number 109 I think. Will be camping too, or probably just in the beer tent all night!
I am, on this:
Hopefully looking like this but faster!
Number 91, 4 places ahead of you kimbers. Hoping for a top 50% result (that's almost on the podium, right?) I am now fully enduro™ compliant with hideously bright yellow hat, laces, gloves and bits of my pack... 😉
I'll be there, marshalling on Stage 1. Then mincing about on my fat bike
Good luck, I'm going up in a bit - apparently it's gone dusty in places
Anyone know if the actual trail loop is still ridable over the weekend with the event on?
I couldn't find any info on the website to & dont know if the enduro uses any of the main trail.
I 'think' the Enduro uses some parts of the Red for a couple of the stages. That's one of the reasons that it's not open to practice until the official practice time.
That will mean that some parts of the Red will be closed, from a bit before practice starts until the end of the event. Most likely to be the funnest downhill bits too I'd imagine.
Bear in mind that a couple of sections of the Red have, In a hideous bit of bad timing for this event been trashed by felling works. Not sure if diversions have been put in place, or if they are passable but if you're planning on riding during the event I'd be heading out to the back of the park onto the bit you shouldn't ride but everyone who knows about it does. Where the Enduro was last year, if that helps...
In the park - part of the cyclefest thing this time:Hargroves demo weekend too...
Any idea how the - demo day bit works and what the hours are that demos are available? Turn up and wait you turn or pre book? Also no idea when it opens and closes (does it close in the evening for example?). It's a bit scant on detail.
Ill be marshalling at the start of stage 3 😀
Introduce yourselves as you 'pucker up' for your runs 😉
Me - 54!
I'll be there on this;

although I've managed to knack my wrist at work today, hoping it settles down in time.
My fat ginger mate wasn't best pleased when he found out the team name I chose. Gingerism, last form of socially acceptable prejudice shirley? Be sure to say hello, I'll be with the fat ginger one.
If it's anything like previous years, the demo bikes will be available all day - so 9:30 or so to 5 pm or so. It's first come first served usually - usually, so go grab what's available.
Last year I rolled back in pretty late on the Sunday and they were pretty much all packed up... some red faces all round when they realised I was on £3k of bike which they'd managed to 'miss' when counting them back in!
The enduro uses some bits of the Red, but also other trails in the main park, which is why practice starts at 18:00. I haven't ridden any of the 'stages', but looking at the map Scott and the boys have picked some great lines for the race.
I'll see all of you lot at the start of stage 2... 3-2-1 GO GO GO!
These QECP boys have got it nailed. Blazing weather for the race last summer, and a scorcher on the way this weekend too. Have a goodun fellas. 😀
I was riding locally for some practice this afternoon - I'm glad practice is at 6, as it was bloody hot!!
Flip! Just got back from a weekend away and the July one is sold out already! 🙁
Gutted.
Yep, under 24 hrs apparently!!
Cant wait for the D&N next year again!!
Should make it a series, be more chance for entries then. Pleased they have done so well but regretting not ending up racing last weekend now, with this selling out so fast...
was up early (for me) on Saturday to get my entry in. Qecp is only 10 minutes away. 2 months to lose 20lb and get fit !
Will be riding a Commencal meta am1 29.
Should make it a series, be more chance for entries then.
We were going to do a third race this year but the work we are doing on the trails within the park, the D&N trails we had to build, the tweaks for the summer race etc. etc. all takes time and there aren't that many of us. On top of that we now have a shed load of maintenance to do once the forestry work finishes.
We felt we'd sooner have two great events than three mediocre ones. We are going to look at things again next year both in terms of numbers and races. If anyone wants to help out then get in touch on our forum.
I would love to do more but we are involved in 4 races this year at QECP.
D&N Enduro (Which sold out)
DH Race 1st June (This weekend, still spaces available)
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/103331/Gravity-Project-Honey-Series-2014-Rd4
XC Race 8th June (Next Weekend, Still spaces available)
http://www.xcracer.com/raceentry/viewevent.php?event_id=640
Enduro on 27th July (Sold out in about 17 hours)
Which is madness
@eranu and @scott - a public thank you for everything and congratulations on the success. I agree with the approach of fewer great events versus more mediocre. I too was to late for the Enduro entry too and was away for the D&N. Next year, next year.
I echo that! The Gravity Enduro seems to be the race for the masses, whereas the DH and XC for the more serious racer.
The XC race will be full on I reckon but the DH race is aimed at grassroots level and will be using 'similar' track to the enduro (27th july) if you know what I mean 😉
Scott, everyone I spoke to at the night enduro said, "see you at the day one in July" so I wasn't surprised when it sold out fast! There'll be 10 of us Brightonians this time. 🙂 A load of the same crew will be with you for the DH race this weekend too.
Bit gutted about missing the next Enduro, but I cant complain, as i'll be in the Pyrenees...
Completely agree about Enduro as racing for the masses- pretty competitive at the pointy end, but a good laugh for everyone else!
Compared with spending half a day sat about waiting for your 3-4 minutes of a DH run, or slogging it round an XC course looking at other men's muddy, lycra-clad bums, it seems worth a couple of hour's drive for the fun of coming somewhere mid-pack...

Good review that!
