Anyone else 'pressed the button' following the "whooping" discount on the Vandal?
Should I remain excited or lower my expectations?
Any further advice, adjustments and...upgrades? 🙂
New bike day is new bike day, anyway;)

Sorely tempted, if I didn't already have a Scandal I would be straight on it.

Is it a discount not to be coughed at?

An I missing something?
Scandal GX build 13Kg
Vandal GX build 13.4Kg

Shouldn't it be lighter than the Scandal?

What's the real life sizing of the Vandal/Scandal like?

On-one says a large would suit my 5'11" height.

Nope sounds about right. Titanium is heavier than aluminum.

The XL is massive! Brant designed them as small, medium and large the px added an XL.

So you could probably ride a medium or large. Depends on how you like to ride. I'd suggest large.

I'm 6'2" with long legs and a large fits me well, and can run a 200mm dropper.

I'm 5ft11and 3/4 (or as I used to point out, taller than most people who claim to be 6ft for some reason).

I've got a large, it could perhapse be a smidgen longer but it's one of the few bikes I've jumped on and immediately felt like it fits without feeling overly compromised.

That said, I still can't get on with it clipped in. The weight distribution just doesn't seem to work for me. So I kinda want to try a Medium with SPDs (or maybe just something with much longer chainstays).

6'2, short legs, long torso. Xl scandal felt short and I didn't want go >60mm on the stem. Vandal is a little longer though I've not tried that.

I had to seriously had to restrain myself this morning so I didn't buy one. Don't need a new mountain bike (or any type of bike for that matter) but the 'want' is strong.

If only it was a ti hello Dave then I'd definitely get one.

Thanks for the size info 👍

'Hello Dave' because of forks, kit or geo?
Do you recon a Ti version would be cheaper than the steel version?
Cheers

The the Titus Moto Loco is the Ti version of the Dave.

I had a look when it came out as I was tempted/confused. I think it's about as close as you could make it with straight tubes? There's the Fireline which looks/is more expensive.

I really fancy trying something different to what I've ever had before and the Hello Dave just looks bonkers. It's frame, fork, groupset and dropper post look outstanding for a relatively cheap bike. The weight does put me off a bit and a titanium finish really appeals to me too.

Yea but as you say, better fork, seatpost, rims, tyres.

And while they're both Ti, I'm guessing the Vandal is an off the shelf tubeset. Presumably the Fireline and even more so the MotoLoco probably use more custom parts (more forming and in the case of the Dave simply a lot more length!).

I ordered an XL Hello Dave the other day when they knocked £200 off it.

My Vandal should be here next week… Was looking for a new hardtail to upgrade from my 26”wheel rigid 2003 Salsa ala Carte and couldn’t really find anything better for the current price. Looking forward to trying something modern and getting back to mountain biking after years of road and gravel!
