I've been told it will slow down the handling due to the slacker head angle, would it be noticeable? If so in what way? I know this is a xc bike but how would the bigger travel forks alter it?
Thanks.
It will slow it down a bit. If you get a fork with 51mm offset, that will help things a bit. I run a 120 sid and 140 pike on my 29er, no probs.
May feel like it wanders more on climbs but should be more stable on the downs.
a ran both 140mm 34's and 140mm Pikes on mine at one point or another, very capable, front end was quite high for me (5'6") hence the Syntax stem when i switched to Pikes,

I've been looking at rockshox
rct3 140 mm, but I see they do a 130mm, this might be a compromise, would I still need 51mm offset with the 130mm? I'm
6 ft 1 if that helps any.
I'm running 150mm pikes on mine and don't really notice anything detrimental.. 😀
Like that dirty, very nice....
