My mate who knows nowt about bikes has bought a very nice 29er to cycle to work, on the canal towpath.
It's running tubeless Racing Ralphs, I have no idea about tubeless.
He's brought it round for me to sort.
The tyres are full of thorns, two being pulled out and leaking lots of air.
I've wacked in a load of air and put the punctures at 6 o'clock.
What can you do if they don't seal?
They aren't bubbling or anything so I'm not sure if there is enough fluid in them.
I don't really want to take the tyres off as they are well seated.
If they seal, do I leave the rest of the thorns in?

bung more sealant in, spin wheels pump up and ride around for a bit

use anchovies in any holes that don't then seal.

Always remove the thorns if you can. The sealant forms clumps around the thorn which then break off and join with other clumps to form a ball, which give a rattling noise when you shake the tyre. If all the particles are in a ball then the sealant won't work very well.

If you shake the tyre and you can hear it sloshing, there's enough in.

They are now sealing, just, but there's no sloshing.
Shall I just bung some stans in? I don't know what is in there now.

i'd just put some more in...

i'm assuming the bike was second hand if its running tubeless?, whoever had it before may not have kept it topped up?, cleaned out etc..

mate had a flat the other day, his latex was all dried out, after 3 months

Yeah, it's mint, but second hand. I'll lob some stans in.
It hasn't sealed after all.
I guess the stans bottle will say how much to put in.

What are the applicator bottles for, can you squirt it down the valves? I guess not.
They are well seated.

can you squirt it down the valves?

yes, the cores will come out of the valve to allow this.
