Right then, the sun is out so I’ll get my bike out of the shed.
Would anyone fancy a night ride tomorrow (Wednesday) with myself and Mr Derekstarship?
8:30 meet at The Church Inn, Prestwich
2 hour ride round HTN courses, Hurst Woods, Ladyshore, Outwood etc.
Pint or two of Olde Bishop’s Tadger and a bag of Bombay Mix to finish.
Meeting point HERE
Come on you lot. Get those lights polished and charge your power cubes.
It's gonna be a balmy ride on (possibly) dusty trails. Work up a thirst to be slaked with a pint of Cobbler's Thumb* in a fine hostelry.
*may not be an actual brand of ale.
I might come if you're prepared to go pretty slowly...
A valid point.
I would have joined you fella. But we're doing an early doors run out, local, straight from work
not sure I'll be back in time, but I might join you for a pint if I am.
Brilliant! Bring your medal, but wipe all of that sh#t off your face that was on the photo 😉
The local paper are are trying to track you down BTW.
Was that the story they're writing about him saving the kittens from drowning? Or the literature award he's picking up from Lancashire Libraries?
He forgot to get someone to cover his round. 🙂
Bump for the evening shift.
Last bump for the lunch time shift.
The trails will be dusty, the cobbles will be lumpy, the berms will be bermy and the beer will be spot on.
Cracking ride - and lovely cold lager in the beer garden afterwards.
Cheers chaps.
i'll try to get faster, and look less horrified, for future jaunts.
great night though. thanks fellas.
Imagine how you would have looked if we'd told you about the 60ft drop to the side of that ridge we rode in the dark?
Next time bring a lighter bike 😉
damn thought thias was for tomorrow[Friday] when I read this and was getting excited
I would have considerably brought the average weight down whilst increasing the hair quota
Next time hopefully.
Good ride that, cheers lads.
[Sits back and awaits modelling contract]

tbh, that probably wouldn't have worried me...
Only just seen this topic. Let me know if you do the same again.. I'
Will do.
sorry I missed it too, was busy but shout me for the next one (how bright do the lights need to be??)
Think everyone had the DX/Smudge/Spokeshirts type.
Plenty bright enough, 'specially when riding in a group.
Just had a look at Smudge's site.
He's doing some very decent lights for £57.00.
Bargaintastic.
the 57 quid one was the one DS had on his bars. i have the smudge v2 light, the 67 quid one.
Oi! I'm not a cheap basstard like you lot! I paid £100 for my Airbike SL2 I'll have you know.
Meh.
The Smudge V2 was a very impressive bit of kit though.
I've got the Airbike lights, wonder what I'd get for them- only used three times!
I like my SL2. It has lasted well and is nicely put together.
