It's "Standard" as opposed to "Power" or "Control"
Yep they all come with the standard lever. Took my single speed with new Evo X2’s last night for its first ride with them on. After a decade of putting up with XT’s with the wonderfully irritating wandering bite point, these are night and day better. More than enough power for the bike they’re on, nice build up of power and very comfortable lever. I may swap out for the control lever to try them as got small hands but still very impressed.
SRAM DB8 4 pot brake set F+R, for £55
No idea if they are any good, no doubt someone will know more about them than me
https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/?srsltid=AfmBOoqRDsipe0iqh6gabTpUJIdA4nO4LimjKdvz8Xd_brdAtASUqNzX
good brakes from what I hear, but they don’t come with clamps, so you’ll need to factor that in. I bought some to replace some knackered (but much better than many suggest) level t’s so should be a good upgrade
Hadn't noticed the "no clamps" thing.
Well spotted

Shame the new blade apparently won't fit the older Tech 4, I'd be in
I'm not certain they don't - I'll try swapping the GR4 blades with my T4V4 at some point in the next day or 2
Cool, will be interested to know how you get on.

Interested to know this as well!
Confirmed...
T4 Evo blades fit the T4 master cylinder.
The cam is totally different, as it's a new design. The Evo standard blade on the normal T4 MC sits a lot closer to the bar.
I'll start a new thread on it later with pics
Little random but https://tea-ink.com/collections/cupcake-birthday (this is my favourite range) are having a sale of their cards, spend over a £10 and there cards are only £1 instead of £2 (admittedly a £4 delivery).
I find them very funny, but maybe I'm alone.. https://tea-ink.com/products/perfect-stick?_pos=1&_sid=d40ec50d2&_ss=r
Pearl Izumi have various stuff at 50% off including my current favourite Summit baggies (simple, forget you’re wearing them, trail pockets that hang to the side of thigh and are actually comfortable to ride with stuff in)
https://pearlizumi.eu/en-gb/collections/all-mens-mtb-shorts
Outlet doesn’t show all the discounted MTB stuff for some reason - need to look under MTB. -
+1 for PI baggies, their kneepads are great too
Anyone seen any deals for non-boost 29inch rear wheels knocking about? Something like Hope that can be converted to QR. Or have a wheel they'd like to sell me.

Thank you for the Pearl Izumi Summit baggies suggestion, never heard of them but will give them a try
especially with useful sizes available at either £24 or £19 from Evan’s Cycles
Any better deals for XT Di2 upgrade kit than the £549 I've found?
Prefer UK based to avoid the customs lottery

I don’t know what era they are but they seem to have Jean style pockets at the front and a useless patch pocket on the rear. The ones I have from a few years back and on the PI site have what they describe as “trail access” pockets (which are one of the best things about them).
planet-x selling off their 29er carbon rigid forks for 99 at the moment. It's about as cheap as they get I think

Must have been a mistake because they're £99.99 now.
Amongst the other bargains at Banana Industries, I found these:
Shimano CUES 2-pot brakeset £89 https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/collections/drivetrain/products/shimano-discbrake-set-bl-u8000-br-u8000-cues-1000-2000mm
Those CUES 2-pots look a bit like the old Deore ones i.e. great brakes.
Would love to know if these are the excellent made in Taiwan stainless versions like what's pictured or more likely the now made in china stamped versions that have the rigidity of a rich t biscuit after a dunk
Never had a problem with the China made version.
These GRX RX810s at Merlin seem a good price at £250, so I ordered some.
But what’s the difference, apart from £50, to these GRX RX810s?

£300 version has the ice tech finned pads or whatever they are called.

50% off rotors and brake pads at superstar components. Use code HERO
They have a 2.3mm thick rotor that I've taken a punt on for the ebike for £12.50 each after using the code.

£850 for a GX equipped rigid Boot Zipper at Planet X seems a good buy for anyone looking for a bikepacking / flat bar gravel bike.
https://planetx.co.uk/products/on-one-bootzipper-29er-sram-gx-steel-mountain-bike
Amazingly for PX, they have all sizes available too.
Dare2B walking trousers for £28 (grey and blue only):
https://www.dare2b.com/mens-tuned-in-ii-multi-pocket-walking-trousers-orion-grey/
I've had them for a couple of years now and they're great on the bike. Slim fit, stretchy, belt loops, decent pockets and you can wear padded undershorts with them.
I've actually just ordered another pair in black, although they're more expensive. There is a code for a further 25% off though if you sign up to their free membership (BDAY25).
Free shipping as member too.
Dare2B walking trousers for £28 (grey and blue only):
Is the 'jumper tucked in' look optional?
No, you have to agree to always wear your jumper tucked in when you sign up to get the membership discount.
Further discount if you submit a photo of you wearing said jumper over the shoulders arms loosely tied
Thanks for the Superstar link, I've ordered a couple of 220mm rotors
Anyone happened to have seen any 160/150mm gnarpoon trail style bikes on offer? Medium/large - gutted now that I dithered too much over the top spec Norco Sights that Triton Cycles had at half price...

75% off too, allegedly. Aye, right.
Would love to know if these are the excellent made in Taiwan stainless versions like what's pictured or more likely the now made in china stamped versions that have the rigidity of a rich t biscuit after a dunk
I ordered some - they are the Chinese version.
I just bought another set of DB8s for £55.... That's just silly money. Not sure what they'll do yet apart from going on the shelf.

Apologies, website comprehension failure on my part.
Bike bargains seem to be drying up a touch now eh

Do you already have clamps or have you found somewhere that does them super cheap?
They're under a tenner each posted on AliXpress. and under £3 if you're happy enough with the one piece non hinged type
I think Merlin has been at this price for a week or 2, but in case anyone has missed it, they have 180mm Zeb's for £325. Only 51mm offset available.
Shame I'm up to my eyeballs in sus forks 🙁

Yeh, kinda hoping there'll be a load of 2025 stuff dirt cheap soon when the 26 stuff comes out.
Yeah I suppose we are heading into traditional sale season, if that still means anything these days.
I ended up going secondhand when I changed my enduro sled this year, and I was lucky to grab an Orbea Rallon which had only been ridden a handful of times for very cheap.
Still loads of bargains out there!
Great value 3 grand ebike here, in a proper 'put together in the UK by people who actually ride in the real world' spec.
STW loved this when they tested it too.

Orange Stage 6 Evo? Nearly half price and loads of colours available.

Bizarrely, they did come with finned pads ,😄
Only thing missing is cable outers 🤷
https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/products/sram-db8-4-piston-brake-set-950mm-2000mm
DB8 pair down to 45 now!
Remember no bar clamps included
Mine arrived the other day. The levers come detached from the hose. Anyone know if the levers are pre-bled ready for the hose to just attach into?
Anyone tried one of these dropper posts?
https://sportandleisure.com/products/tranzx-jd-ysp18-dropper-seatpost-31-6mm?variant=56331514904963
Seems like a good deal.
Just the Brand X everyone uses by the look of it? If so, decent enough.
Tranzx manufacturer the posts for all of the other brands

they are yes. Lever has a stopper and cable has a barb pre fitted

Yea, we have a 130mm one. It's exactly the same post as the trans-x that came on our Trek Roscoe, but this one says "lapierre" on it. No complaints so far.
It's a bonkers good deal and this generation of SRAM brakes are lightyear ahead of what they were just a year or so back.
Note : they state they have the Stealth levers but that is not what's pictured, and I suspect you wont get stealth lever bodies.
TranzX are the base design for the old brand X posts, aswell as the ascend components post.
If anyone is after dropper, I can recommend this. It has been faultless on my hardtail for last 8months.
Can't beat it for £79.99
I've been trying to figure it out that YT/SDG one is the v1 or V2 model. Think I concluded it's the v1. Can you confirm?

Orange Stage 6 Evo? Nearly half price and loads of colours available.
Hmmm - they look really, really tempting! Massive Orange fan (last 4 main bikes have been Oranges) too.
I've been trying to figure it out that YT/SDG one is the v1 or V2 model. Think I concluded it's the v1. Can you confirm?
I wasn't sure myself. It comes without original packaging. Bottom half of the post looks like v2 and top like v1.
The RM YT/SDG post is deffo V1, which is fine as very reliable and proven. Mine is going strong and at £80 is amazing value and you can clear £20 out of the lever if you don't need it (it's s a bit basic).
I'm sure there was a PSA on here a while back about cheap RockShox forks on Merlin. I was idly browsing for brake sets after my problem child MT7s had yet another issue yesterday, when I was distracted by a set of Pike 140 ultimates for - after my loyalty and quidco discounts - £417 posted.
I did nick my Pike selects yesterday and they need a proper service, so I convinced myself I was almost saving money #manmaths
No decals, but there's a £10 solution for that as I found replacing the set on the current forks.
Do it! The stage 6 evo is a cracking bike

Anyone own/ridden one of these? Any issues?
Bird Aeris AM9 frame with a shock for £580 seems like a deal for anyone in the market right now
https://www.bird.bike/product-category/bc-build-components/bc-frames/bc-aeris-am9-v1-2-frame/
Pikes arrived. OEM obviously but with bag of accessories and an uncut steerer. Bonus are the decals the ad said it didn't have 😉
^ sounds good Alex. They have been on my radar for a while too as my Pike Select+ need servicing too.
Are yours glossy or matt painted? And what colour are the (unexpected) decals? Can you please post a pic of what you got?
Merlin sometimes do a 10% off RS which I have been hoping for for a while now...
@nickfrog I'd say glossy. Grey decals. The are even the same offset (not that I really care) as the select+ they are replacing. Probably ask my riding bud to do a lower leg on the current select+ and they can go on the bikepacking HT. Which as some 7 or 8 year old pikes currently installed.
@Alex thank you
First ride on them last night @nickfrog - fairly sure it's the 3.1 damper in there. Felt very plush. Also they come with an "E-MTB ready" sticker which I've removed 🙂
Good to hear. I might just bite the bullet as I might get decent money for my Pikes so it will feel like a decent upgrade to a new fork.
