I know I'll prob not need it for another 6-8 months (hopefully!) but I've taken a punt on one of these.  My normal winter riding jacket has seen a lot of use over the years and is getting pretty tired. Although I can't find much in the way of reviews, this looks like a good discount on something that should be pretty good quality.  It should arrive tomorrow, so I'll have a thorough nosey at it then and report back.

Hi @big-bud would you mind PMing me too?

I looked at the CC website instructions to adjust it and they seemed a bit over-complicated.

Your son has the right idea though, coil FTW 😉

Evans website has pinnacle flat pedal shoes reduced to £15. They seem pretty well made and I went up half a size and they fit me well. Just out for a quick spin now to test the grip. I'm not expecting them to rival fever tens on that front but how bad can they be. I'll report back after my test ride later. Assuming I'm not in A&E with a foot slipped off the pedal incident

Thanks for the heads up on these. Very impressed for the money. Not ridden in them yet but fit is good - true to size, usual shoe size is 10 and got the 10 in these. Quality also seems good. Great buy for the commute!

There’s tons of used, new and near new gear, tyres, parts and kit at the DTV table sale alongside Pedalabikeaway at the Cannop trails carpark Forest of Dean tomorrow. regular donations mean there’s always interesting stuff. DTV = Dean trail volunteers. I’ll be there manning the till with regular stall holder Robert. (Mick Jagger)

Has anyone seen any stonking hardtail frame deals? Something slack-ish, alloy or steel, but not a full on 'enduro gnarpoon' like a Stif squatch or those cheap on-ones. Must be modern geo with a short seat tube and long reach.

Ideally - pretty looking, bright colours, nice springy ride. Or a new Cotic Solaris but its half price 🤣

Yeah, this is a Shiva 3 Carbon.  Sadly it’ll be a lot more than 150 as retail is well over £500 and its box fresh.

Nice one. Went to order the other day and they claimed they had no stock. My gen 7 Apple Watch is dying a slow death (barely gets through a day if I do two workouts…) so we’ll see how the Garnin goes.

ive been looking for something a bit more “health” and less smar****ch too!

Great price for the stif squatch. Far more of an all rounder than it would suggest, can do full on enduro but also surprisingly adept at other more sedate riding.

Google have good trade in prices if buying a pixel 9a

They're offering £345 trade in for my pixel 7 which brings the price of the 9a down to £154. Also get £25 store credit.

The trade in for the pixel 9 is £231 for my pixel 7.

That's tempting, they"re offering £260 for my old pixel 5 which seems like a lot for a 4 year old phone, even though it's in great condition.

Did a quick search of their trade in partner which put me right off the idea

My wife and I have both used Google trade-in in the past, and both times it's been easy and they've given us the quoted amount. Just have to be honest about the phone.

I'd happily use them again.

I’ve been really happy with my non pro, but the pro gains the flashlight and better sensor. And seemingly 0% finance!

Not a bargain one this but the Conti Argotal Enduro Ultrasoft 29x2.4 is finally available to the public. It's still bloody expensive, £72 from Bikeinn or a little more from tredz is the best I can find but hopefully prices'll fall once it's in more shops, Conti UK aren't even advertising it yet. Should be an absolutely superb "hard use" allrounder considering how good the previous Soft and the dh supersoft are.

(OK maybe nobody else will actually care but I've been waiting for this one since I got my argotal soft when they first came out. I think they might have missed the boat though, the highroller 3 in exo+ got to me first)

My god, the Garmin website is almost as bad as the settings menu on my 530 to navigate!

Anyone know whether the 6s can do navigation? As in, load a route and show it on a (tiny) map? Do you get turn by turn guidance like I do on the 530?

Ir does it need to be the Pro model for that?

According to https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/08/garmin-fenix6-series.html it needs to be Pro model.

I might be wrong, but from looking at a few articles, I think the "Solar" is only available as a 6S Pro, but I refer you to the start of my sentence...

Offered me about half that on a 6a with an intact screen... 🙄  (checked again - £102!)

EDIT: Ah, worked out what I was doing wrong, if you select a phone to buy and get an estimate as part of the buying process, it comes up with the higher amount, rather than just getting an estimate from the main page.

Yeah, unfortunately for me, I think you're wrong too.

I got a bit excited so tried to order one. The website kept crashing which I should have taken a sign. Instead however, blinded by discount fever I persevered.

I read that DC Rainmaker thing and looked on Talky Toaster. No maps for the 6s.

Cancelled the order 10 mins after placing it and then got a shipped notification about 5 minutes later.

Now I have to send back a watch that I didn't need or want.

Still a good PSA though.

50% off OS maps annual subscription.

These stack onto existing subscriptions

Make sure you have a few of the partners ticked in the route search.

Bottom of the filters section in the app.

50% off OS maps annual subscription.

I’m already a subscriber and have read this I went and paid having logged in

my app still says it will renew in July

Now I read them their T&C say:

Offer is for new subscribers only.
Valid only on annual subscription, recurring payment can be cancelled at any time.
Subscription renewal will be at full price.
Cannot be used with any other offer or promotion.
Ordnance Survey reserves the right to end or change this promotion at any time.”

I’ll report back either way

Ooh nice one, they also have some of the SEs at £55 (which you can of course get the eternal Tredz £5 over £50 discount on, I think NLD7TLJLXN ought to work for anyone). Not sure the SE is actually worth the extra money but it's also more colour options and sizes including the glorious flo yellow, so I just ordered myself one of those. I got one of the hideous gold ones last year for £32 but £40 or £50 for a non-hideous one is worth the extra. Thanks!

3% topcashback also available.

That OS Maps offer stacked for me through to Jul 2027. OS Maps App updated straight after refreshing the page.

Cheers @cp

PS 1, think it finishes tonight

PS 2 , Odd i know, but I am sure the OS Map annual subs are fixed until your credit card expiry date is reached. Myself and a friend found the exact same! The above offer I understand defeats that peculiarities.

Maybe I'm late to the party on this but if you have Amazon Prime then the freeride movie Nothing's For Free is free to stream, and it is bloody fantastic. Like finding a new classic biking dvd in the era of 3 minute edits.

Bargain, and thanks for the P.S.A.

Not bad at all for under £200. Torque Caps as standard. 1850g. Build quality seems extremely high although we will see on they fare on the trail.

Mine arrived. Look good. Torque caps. Is that a Rockshox only thing? Ok for me anyway.

Not bad at all for under £200. Torque Caps as standard. 1850g. Build quality seems extremely high although we will see on they fare on the trail.

fingers crossed. No idea where you’d get warranty. Or hub spares.

^ warranty with retailer I would assume. Spares? Aren't they not in business anymore? TBF I have never needed spare on wheels so far so not too bothered at that price if they are disposable after a few years.

youre right about the price. Proper bargain.
It would be nice to imagine freehub bodies might be available.
Might need good luck getting warranty on bike parts from sport and leisure.com I’d imagine!

Syntace are very much alive, 9 seconds on google lead me to their website. Direct to customer now, so spare from Germany.

always like their stuff, shame I can’t justify another pair of wheels

God damnit ive been doing well not-shopping recently but those wheels have proved too good to resist.

My justification is that my final pair of non boost (but boostinated) wheels are getting very tatty, and  also to the point they need some new bearings etc. I could easily end up spending £100 on sorting them out (bearings etc)

as long as you have a torque cap compatible fork! So not Fox AFAIK.
the ad doesn’t say, but the torque caps don’t look removable.
