North wave Rockit Plus shoes down from £150 to £25 here…

https://www.edinburghbicycle.com/northwave-rockit-plus-shoes

Thanks for that. Don't like the colour but at that price I'll live with it. Lucky they had my size although I hope a 45 in NW is the same as my current Shimano AM5 in 45!

They seem far lighter than the AM5 which is what I am after. I'll probably sell the Shimanos for £20 so can't go wrong with a £5 upgrade, fingers crossed on the sizing.

I always find shimano small in sizing, but then with Northwave I also got some and they were slightly small so you may be ok. It says a 45 is 11 doesn't it but for me 45 in northwave felt more like a 10 but then a shimano 45 is a 10.

Waitrose had chocolate Panettone reduced from £12 to £3. I had to have one!

Various neighbours and family have brought 4 to us as gifts. Waitrose x 1, M&S x2, Morrisons X1

The Morrisons one was half eaten then made into a form of bread and butter pudding... 😋

@kimbers

It’d would probably do the job but it would rattle in the tyre, mine do in 2.6 DHR2 and I think they are large

I got my shoes.

I did actually wait unit they'd arrived before I posted up here as I was expecting them to be cancelled as I've had the same with them in the past.

Why? An order you didn't really need was canceled due to massive customer over ordering that their system wasn't built to handle?

They're a good company but not the kind that can just magic stuff out of thin air.

Why? An order you didn’t really need was canceled due to massive customer over ordering that their system wasn’t built to handle?

Any online system would have a view of stock levels and decrement as orders are placed, then make the product unavailable when all stock is sold.  Over ordering cannot happen other than odd ones or twos if the stock count is out.

It sounds like they deliberately or accidentally made stock available that they don’t have, or at a price they don’t want to sell for.

T&Cs usually protect the retailer so it’s at the buyers discretion to decide whether that’s enough to boycott a retailer - the reality is that most of our principles can be equally matched by the desirability of the product and the level of discount being offered in the future.

Just a heads up, Scotby Cycles in Carlisle is closing down. The retail shop is shut from today, it’s mail order, or booked collection for the next 3 weeks. Prices will be reduced on the website in due course. Stuff that hasnt sold will be in a ‘massive’ (their words, not mine) sale on the 25th to 27th Jan. at the shop. If anything is left, it’ll be sold off really cheap via the website. They still have some of the GT gravel bikes at £999. My OH bought a Cannondale Trail 6 at half price today (£312), I picked up a £10 jersey and a 400 lumen/80 hour light for £20.

Crank bros m17 and m19 multitools £12 and £14 each at Go Outdoors.

Just grabbed a m17 as a spare and there was a further 15% off so only £10.20.

I can’t make my mind up about these… that’s a great price, but I guess not such a bargain if they just sit under your bed like two pairs of my so far unused superstar wheels.  I’d like (not need) a pair of nicer wheels for my Fargo… not sure these are the ones but then again… hmmmm

24mm internal rim I believe. They look nice but tick a lot of 'things I don't want on my wheels ' boxes, hard to find freehub replacement, straight pull spokes, 28h.

I did order some 100% shorts, jerseys, gloves and a NS DH hub though. All I need now is a cheap set of 83mm cranks.

https://www.inspiralcycles.co.uk/components/brakes/swissstop-disc-27-endurance-brake-pads-for-shimano-4-pot__13133

Inspiral cycles are selling off my chosen pads for £10 a pair - I thought these were really good value when I found them at £16 a pair a couple of years ago! They are really consistent and give noticeably better modulation than other pads, and stood up to alpine descents that racematrix pads didn't even last an hour on.

They have pads that fit SRAM brakes in stock for the same price.

Hmm, as a household of two types of 4-piston shimano brakes, that is both useful and needs a warning of not fitting all 4 piston shimano brakes.

They fit both the mt520 caliper and Deore m6020 calipers that I use them in so assume they'll work for slx/xt also. I always thought the pads for zee/saint were the same as well, maybe Matt's alluding to the 400 series brakes?

deserve there own PSA

Oh here it is https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/psa-vitus-bikes-sentier-27-vr-349/

This thread seems to have become THE thread for PSAs, which wasn't what I intended.

I think we are getting more PSAs posted with it than if everyone had to make a thread though. But the bar for a PSA here is lower, so mega deals aren't obvious on the main threads page and people might not notice them.

Don't know what's best really, but also not my call.

Don’t know what’s best really, but also not my call.

A separate "Deals & PSAs" forum might work - they could even have the odd sponsored post (e.g. CRC's deals of the week) to generate a bit of revenue.

Anyway.. lots of discounted DT Swiss rims over at Biketart at the moment.

Thanks, I bought some XM481 as well.

I am after some rims for my 12yr olds Ragley build, XM421 looked good but aren't reduced in 27.5. The other option in 25mm inner are the X432. Will be using with 2.35 tyres

I got one of the 24" frames to build a bike for my kid. The issue is all the other bits, 142mm hub means custom wheel, 24" tyres aren't cheap, cranks are tricky to find, etc. it's a great deal (other than the postage) for the frame but the rest of the build is def awkward.

Based on the news, been looking around and there's 50% off oranges at sunset and nearly that at the factory shop. Takes them from awful value to reasonable (rs 35 silver on a £4k build? Wtf..)
