flat mount, be aware, not post mount, s0 generally only suitable for flatbar gravel and maybe hybrid bikes
I was deep into a plan to upgrade the SRAM calipers on my gravel bike with these, and thinking I could then stick the levers on my hardtail as an upgrade there.... then noticed they are tech 3, not Tech 4, and it all fell apart.
Those Super Moto tyres are amazing especially for £12.50

Full MemberEssentially slick 29×2.4. I’m intrigued but I just know it wouldn’t end well.
They;re really good at the thing they do, which is be a heavy but very tough commuterey tyre that also looks really good on a mountain bike. Similiar to the fat frank. (I got some 2.5 GT wheelie bike tyres to do much the same thing) They have some Hurricanes on sale too which are kind of similiar but you get a bit of side tread so they're not as good on tarmac but they're a million times better on stuff like canal paths or similiar, nontechnical rding that can get soft and slidy. Schwalbe are brilliant at this sort of thing.
Like, almost certainly they're a bad choice and everyone should be fitting a 32c road tyre instead. But they make mountain bikes look so bad, I can never bring myself to do it. And the fat slicks always make me smile when I see them, properly cartoonish.
Tektro Gemini 4-pot brake set inc 2 x 180mm 6-bolt Magura Storm HS 2.0mm rotors for £65 at Merlin
I’ve got TRP Slate EVOs on two bikes and heard these Tektros are similar but not quite as outright power. Seems a good price for a complete brake setup
I've got the Gemini's.
Good brakes, better than my 4-pot Deores in power I think, slightly less grabby, slightly wooden feeling (like a DB8), but brilliant for average MTB fun.
Yes there's better if I was racing, Alps, super gnadgery etc, but for the money....
TRP = Tektro Racing Products
5 10 sleuths on offer for £26 + £5 delivery
Thank you - I needed some flat pedal shoes for some cycle touring and they are ideal. My first flat pedal cycle shoes in 25 years...
5 10 sleuths on offer for £26 + £5 delivery
Thanks. Father and son sorted.
Any conti tyre deals?
Conti’s on the banana industries site. Minion back on there too but £25 not £12.50 to £15 as they were
Super Motos have awful cornering grip when tipped over to any decent sort of lean angle on wet tarmac. Almost any 25c road tyre has way more grip in the same situation. If you can honestly say you won't ever corner very leaned over then by all means fit them for their look but that "look" might not seem quite so important to you when you suddenly feel your bike slip from under you and find yourself sliding along a cold wet road on your thigh in front of other road users on your way home from work.
Nice carbon bars for £56 at tredz, down to £51 with the usual codes they offer. 10-40mm rise favours. I've had the 40mm version for a few years and would recommend. Not mega stiff.

Good price on the xt 4pot brakes on that deviate link too, £100 each end
Thanks for the Certini one; just bagged myself some recon shoes for 60% off, happy days, my size was the only size left!
Salsa Rangefinder for £500. plenty of sizes available. £1400 RRP is a bit of a joke,, but excellent value at £500.

Bargain. Only fly in ointment is the 'boost' 141 QR rear
These Fox 36 forks look like a bargain, paint defect but £250!
210x55 Bomber Air shock for £149.99

Anyone used one of these?
Salsa Rangefinder Deore 11 | Biketart
I was really tempted by this to replace my scandal and move my bits over as the salsa has rack mounts but the 141 mm QR hub put me off.

Anyone used one of these?
Just a fox DPX2 from my understanding?
Was just looking for Endura MT500 Spray trousers and Leisure Lakes have them at £65 - half price, but don't know if that's new. Anyway, I've ordered.

Lecol seem to have their normal winter sale on, some good bargains and if you have a voucher they stack sometimes
https://lecol.cc/collections/mens-long-sleeve-cycling-jerseys-sale
Yeah I've ordered a pair as well.
I miss the Wiggle/Chain Reaction deals, this time last year I think I had deliveries every week for a couple of months!
Keeping an eye out for a Garmin instinct 2x solar, so far the best price I've seen is £214 but a new model is due to be realised.
Hopefully the Instinct 2 range will drop when the new model is released.
Anyone seen any top-end flat pedals for a silly price anywhere?
50% off superstar nano with NANO50 in December. Not sure if you think they're high end enough, but I like them as much as any flat pedal I've used
@niel11 I've got my last 2 Garmin watches from this seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/gpsgadgets
Both brand new. One developed a fault (bezel went loose after a week, nothing the seller could have known) and I got a refund the day it was received by them.
They have stock go in and out so keep an eye out. I got a new instinct crossover for £150, about half what it is new
I'm also looking for a Solar Instinct 2. They were £199 at Blacks earlier today but I missed those. Next cheapest is £204 at Currys.
I'm planning to wait out a bit to see if they come down any more.
I managed to register on Perks at work (I just picked any company on the list, my employer is not a part of this scheme) and it takes a significant amount off the RRP on the Garmin website.
They've currently got a discount code on there for an additional 10% off but it doesn't appear to be working at the moment
I think we have something similar so I'll take a look. I'll look at the blue light discount too.
Just checked PaW and the 20% discount code doesn't work either - on the Instinct 2 at least. Would get it down to £169 if it did.

but the 141 mm QR hub put me off.
Appreciate it's a bit pants if you want to transfer existing QR stuff.
But you can stick a quality wheelset on using a hope or DT Swiss boost hub with QR end caps.
e.g. this one for a microspline free hub.

Troy Lee Designs Stage Mondraker Helmet£ 145
Nice one, got some Christmas money and was looking for a nice and airy full face helmet. Happy to trust TLD with my swede!
For those who were after the Garmin instinct 2X solar, it's now down to £182 from £340 but you need to be registered with Perks at Work to get the discount:
https://www.hotukdeals.com/share-deal-from-app/4497770
I've had second thoughts as it would look like a wall clock on my chicken leg sized wrists!
That's a pretty good price. My employer doesn't use p@w so not available to me sadly.
I think I might end up with the forerunner 55 for £129 at blacks.
My employer doesn't use Perks at work either! I just picked an employer from the list and managed to register, it took a couple of tries but I managed to register in the end.
Any experience of this fox 36s with grip damper? Wondering whether I’d quickly get itchy feet for something with more dials to fiddle with
@cjr61 depends how much of a fiddler you are ? I've got them on my EBike they work just fine basic set up then leave them to do their thing .
Is that the good damper or the one people say not to get?
It's generally considered pretty decent without having to **** about to much with it.
Rapha have their Gore Trail Jacket on offer at half price £145
Considering most people end up dialling out all the compression adjustments in search of reduced harshness, you could argue that grip is the o e to get anyway.
That Fox 36 + Bomber deal looks great, but I'm struggling to find a frames that fits.
Any budget ideas? 210x55 shock size on that bomber.
It's the original Grip which basically means it's a really nice damper, provided you can find a setting in it that works for you with its limited adjustability. At 10 stone, I was too light for it, there was just no way to have it be reactive over chatter without being super divey, it was doable but it wasn't good. But if you're more in the middle then it could work very well.
Merlin carbon gravel fork for £80.

Bird Aether 9 for £695
https://www.bird.bike/product/aether-9-frameset/#configuration
What about a used Ibis Ripmo AF frame? Fits the shock/forks spec and come up for sale pretty often at decent prices.
Or ignoring the shock, this would be a bargain with the Fox 36 forks
Deviate Highlander 1 frames at £999 not inc the shock .. Thats the only answer
Merlin carbon gravel fork for £80
My merlin fork had top mount missing and the lower leg mounts both misformed. I had very little trust in their QC or the fact that the customer service is summed up as "DILLIGAF".
Cotic jeht is also 210 x 55 (mk1 is anyway according to geometry geeks)
fox enduro knee pads are £35 in my local go outdoors
https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/16496124/fox-enduro-knee-guard-16496124
Not sure if already posted but £50 after cashback and £5 off is a bargain for decent carbon bars in a choice of rises.
I always received fantastic service from Merlin despite their super low prices. Including after sales and returns. I have been buying from them since the mid 90s.
FYI my Marzocchi shock arrived with 25x8mm hardware on one end and 10x8mm on the other,
What is yours going on gribs?
FYI anyone, cheap marzocchi shock arrived from merlin, a scan of it, from tbe label on the can, shows its from an Ibis Ripmo AF
IIRC the DW link suspension on the Ibis will have a particularly low leverage rate, so the shock may have less compression damping than might be optimal for many bikes?
Certainly don't think it'd be ideal for my Orange.
Bomber Z2 29er forks from £202
Decathlon 4 person 2 bedroom air tent, £300 from Argos, so £150 off

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9426874
What is yours going on gribs?
Mines going on my Aether 9 to replace a Fox Float DPS that could do with a service.
Still good deals on 5.10s at Evans/Frasers etc.
£33 for some Sleuth DLX with all sizes available or £39 for Freerider Pro with all sizes available, both in sensible colour schemes, seem to be the pick of the bunch.
