the Ghost carbon wheels are now down to 399
absolute madness
Those Ghost wheels look like a bargain, I was going to get another set of Hunt XC wheels but might have to go for some of these instead.
I do not need any wheels
I do not need any wheels
I do not need any wheels
Damn, I couldn't resist those wheels at that price. £400 I really didn't need to spend but an absolute bargain and about 600g lighter than my current wheels
I'm at here trying not to buy a second pair ?
I think you can get a sign up discount also
I’m at here trying not to buy a second pair
I've just noticed they're centrelock. Do they come with adaptors for 6 bolt discs?
No adaptors with mine
Only valves
No adaptors with mine
Thanks. Bit of a bugger tho, will have to spend more money :-/
Do you know if you can change the hub adaptors to run them non boost?
No because you can't offset the discs or cassette back 3 or 5mm
Ah, thanks
Damn it couldn't resist those wheels.
Damn it couldn’t resist those wheels.
Same. Though now wondering if I need to buy a new (fancy lightweight?) cassette to go with it rather than the old deore I've got on my current set!
@dan7887, these are non boost, slightly heavier, slightly more expensive, but still a heavy reduction:
Does anyone have actual weights for those ghost wheels? Are they really sub 1500g as per spec? So tempted....
I’ve just noticed they’re centrelock. Do they come with adaptors for 6 bolt discs?
There’s some cheap XT centrelock rotors at Merlin at the moment,
https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-xt-mt800-ice-tec-centrelock-rotor-180696.html
re wheel weights, i cant remember if i weighed them bare
but i took my trek comp wheels off complete with discs and cassette, and compared them with the ghost wheels1, same tyres, transferred cassette over, and fitted xt centre lock discs, they were 580g lighter so i reckon the listing is pretty accurate
I weighed my ghost wheels, 1498g with tape and valves...
I weighed my ghost wheels, 1498g with tape and valves…
It's like they're not really there.
Merlin have the Felt VR 60 (claris) road bikes, boxed for £370 atm.. insane pricing, if you want to dip your shoes into road biking its an absolute steal, for that money you can afford to upgrade it and still be quids in over a higher spec bike IMHO, my only complaint is claris is a bit clunky and gappy, id certainly be happier with a few more cogs
They also have their own brand gravel ebike for £700, no views on that except it seems cheap, yet heavy (18kg) hub drive, but with crank torque sensor
I haven’t looked into that at all. The spokes are flat bladed pillar spokes, no idea how easy it will be to get spares…
Those spokes appear to be available if we knew what length and weight (they appear to come in 4 different weights) are needed. I've fired off a query to Ghost themselves asking for info.
Might get another fiver off those wheels using LXZ-O9HVQJG
Can't find any reviews on those wheels, what if they are as still as hell, fall apart and the freehub is turd?
Zwift Play controllers half price £50 in the shop sale, along with other merch.
The wheels seem to come on this bike https://www.ghost-bikes.com/int-en/lector-fs-sf-pro/
So regards Stevelol's concerns maybe the biggest risk is they will eat someone else's wheels.
More seriously will the hubs not be likely rebranded novatec or bitex or the like?

That's good! Still expensive, but (to me) more appealing than the Ghost wheels due to the unknowns vs lifetime warranty on the Reverves. A set of those Reserves came on my new-to-me bike and they're lovely.27.5 are £680, 29er are £850 in that link.
a single rim by itself is £650 - that's a hell of a deal.... lifetime warranty on the rims too.
repeat. I do not need any more wheels I do not need any more wheels
Lots of specialized roval wheels half price at tredz and on the spesh site. Alu and carbon.
very tempted by those, pity about the I9 hubs,
The EE Pixel 8a deal has just been pulled. I was in the process of checkout...
Naturehike Cloud-Up 2-person tent for £84.00 at the Bezos Empire - appeared to be well regarded on here from a search I did when looking for small/light/cheap 1-2 person tent. I've got one on the way.
Cloud-Up 1 person also available for £71.00.
Have Strava just ditched the usual Black Friday deal of buy an annual sub and get two months free, offering a pair of socks instead?
Ultra-sonic cleaners in Aldi for £20 - I don't know if they are any good or not.
I was going to buy Roval Control Alloy 29 wheels for my Stumpy in the sale at £340 but would then need to by a MS freehub and 6 bolt rotors.
So I bought a set of the Carbon Ghost 29s which will plug and play for £400 and Klarnad it across 3 months. Let's see what they are like, worth a punt at that money. The MS ones were £50 cheaper than the rest of them.
TBF at £400 even if the rear hub is crap on those wheels it'd not be the end of the world to replace it. I really don't need any wheels, but but but...
Saris H3 turbo trainer £299 at Go Outdoors, according to post on HotUKDeals.
Bit OT but 2 good deals for car tyres... National have some specific but common sizes of the excellent Goodyear Vector Allseason Gen 3 at £103 but also have a 10% off 2, 20% off 4 deal. And also 2.55% topcashback if you do that. So I just got all 4 corners, with mobile fitting for free, for £344.77 in a 225/45/17.
Similiarly ATS have one of their stacky offers on for Michelin so you can get £70 off a set of 4, plus a £50 amazon voucher. Applies to all Michelins but this time of year the usually expensive Crossclimate 2 sticks out and again in my 225/45/17 would come to £355.96 after the £50 voucher's taken into account.
Neither's the Current Hottness in allseasons, absolutely everyone says the new Pirelli is the king of the roost but they're a good chunk more expensive. I figure these are both definitely Good Enough.
Speaking of National Tyres - they are part of Halfords now and one of their smoke and mirrors online 'brands' is:
https://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/
I bought thru that site last week and it was £30 a corner cheaper compared to National's own site. Stock / fitting etc are all done at your National branch.
Worth checking at the very least.
Godammed 'Wordpress Critical error' - ended up posting duplicate!
Has anyone received a pixel 8a from EE yet? I ordered last night & it says up to 14 days for dispatch.
I used a discount code from Wightlink ferries to get 30% of an annual subscription at OS maps.

My pixel 8a turned up in under 24 hours from EE. But this was 2 weeks ago tomorrow
@ceept I ordered pixel 8a saturday morning and still haven't had even a delivery schedule email yet. Ordered the 256Gb one. Suspecting it may get cancelled now.
@ceept I ordered a 128gb 8A last week and arrived following day. I have decided I need a 256gb version, as didnt realise no memory card slot. Ordered the 256gb on Monday, with intention to return the 128gb, and still not recieved despatch notification. Guess its taking them time to catch up.

i procrastinated too long. decided id pay the extra for the 256Gb version in green, went to order it, not available now, only the 128 so ive left it.
@Andy If the 256 does turn up I would take the 128 off you hands as I missed the offer.

EDIT - duplicate post

This was timely as I need four tyres. As it turned out nowhere was particularly cheap for my 225/50R17 98W s .. was looking at £600+ everywhere really...apart from Costco who had 4xVector Allseasons for £390, almost unbelievably cheap in comparison to everywhere else. I'm generally against renewing the Costco card...but they've come up trumps this time.
Those Al Reserve wheels are looking tempting now.
Onza tyres have some chunky discounts

My ghost carbon wheels arrived today. 1.2kg on the kitchen scales with nothing but the already applied tape. 27mm internal with a metal ruler.
there are some other good looking carbon wheels bargains:
Wider wheels, but not boost and pretty old, £500 https://sportandleisure.com/products/praxis-works-c32-29-carbon-mtb-wheelset-sram-xd-15-x-100mm-12-x-142mm
£325 non boost or £375 boost, various hub and rim options
Running rather than cycling, but there's some absolute bargains for trail shoes on the adidas website if you're a member (which is free).
Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra is a ridiculously fast ultra shoe, https://www.adidas.co.uk/terrex-agravic-speed-ultra-trail-running-shoes/IF6594.html
Terrex Agravic Speed not quite as fast but a very good trail shoe too, https://www.adidas.co.uk/terrex-agravic-speed-trail-running-shoes/IG8017.html
Ordered my 8a yesterday lunchtime, no delivery scheduled yet but will wait and see if it gets cancelled.

I want to get a set of these and then take them to a place where we can find our roots bloody roots roots bloody roots.
So my Ghost wheels arrived.....
And the non drive side end caps have a strange lip on them that prevents you from getting the tool onto the locking to tighten the brake rotor. I've just contacted customer service. Here we go! I'm flummoxed.
Some cassette tools fit and some don’t in my experience of centre lock.
@muzz - Sounds like you need external splined rotor lockrings. That's what I have and they fit fine on the Ghost wheels. Sounds like you have the ones with internal spline that take a cassette tool. Mine use a hollowtech bottom bracket tool to tighten.
Ah, I must be using the wrong lock ring as well as it does fit the tool I have. It is a locking from other hubs. That could be adding to the confusion
Correct lock ring has solved it. Thank you all! Look forward to using them now.
Are the Ghost wheels hookless?
The best pedal power meters have a substantial discount. Road only And m afraid, they haven’t reduced the SPD version this year. £249 for single sided is £50 more than the used price. And they come with outstanding customer service I have two pairs and am thinking of a third.
