£400 for some MRP Ribbon forks at Bird. 140mm/ 27.5.

https://www.bird.bike/product/mrp-ribbon-air-140mm-27-5-1880g-november-pre-order/

Some more forks with a decent chunk off but nothing close to the discount on those Ribbons

£400 for some MRP Ribbon forks at Bird. 140mm/ 27.5.

If anybody wants the same fork but the 29er version (I also bought it from Bird a short while ago in the sale), PM me... A change of plans means it's now surplus to requirements... Will let it go for £360...

Saw this on UK hot deals

That GT Sensor ST is one hell of a bike for the price!!! Shock stroke can be increased to 55mm to give 140mm travel, it'll take a 150mm fork too... ??

If anyone is a 36 or 38 inch waist I highly recommend the Alpinestars Tahoe waterproof trousers, £29.99 on Sports Pursuit at the moment. I do think they are quite small fitting on so maybe suitable for 34 or 36 inch waist usually.

I'm a 30 in waist usually, but had to go for 32 inch- am also female though so hips come into it.

Great trousers, kept me very dry and comfortable this morning in deepest darkest Tameside.

Now FREE to sell on eBay from today - no listing or final value fees.

There are one or two caveats (max 300 listings/month, private sellers only, motors excluded etc.) so check the T&Cs if unsure.

Rab clothing on Sport Pursuit, I can defnitely recommend the Conduit pullover, a most excellent (thin) fleece baselayer

Quick note of thanks for the PSA on Banana Industries merino socks https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/collections/socks-1/products/sock-4-active-light-breeze?variant=46464755761437

they were at 3 quid, bought 4 pairs as my 4 yr old favourites were all trashed. The new ones are very good - lovely ‘foot feel’, generous size (I’m a 13 and the larger size fits great), and a nice length (i.e. not too short). Like very much. Even at £6 they seem very good value.

Currently 30% off Gloworm lights from the European distributor. Best lights I've ever used, super customisable with various optics/mounts etc. and the after sales and warranty support has been amazing.

Good excuse to update my current set (X2/XS) from G1 to G2 and get the new batteries, connectors and a few extra lumens....

Been deliberating a road bike

Merlin have entry level Felt VR bikes for cheap, i worked out it was actually pretty decent value to buy one nad upgrade if that's your thing

Felt VR 60 Claris Road Bike 2022 - Boxed | Merlin Cycles

they have a slightly cheaper boxed version too with a Felt own crank, i went for that as ill probably grab a used tiagra hydraulic groupset

they also have Orro's marked down, including an ex demo 105 bike in medium

Add finally

Ribble Cycles | Leading British Cycle Manufacturer Since 1897 | Ribble Cycles

loads of good value stuff at the moment, their endurance range and allroad

Spa cycles having a frame clearance:

https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m11b0s238p0/Frames/Clearance-Frames-Framesets

I always thought if buying a touring frame I’d buy a disc brake version but the 725 Steel Touring Frameset (including headset) for £235 looked too good to miss.

What size frame would suit someone 5'8 with short legs and a long torso? Road geometry confuses me.

I'm 5'8 and a smidge, i am unsure of my leg to torso ratio...

Medium is my go to on most things, but obviously road stuff still goes in cm's, I'd be looking at manufacturers specs, but i's be aiming 52-54 myself, some manufacturers have a 54, some a 53, some a 51 etc etc, the 2 drop bar bikes i have got are significantly different positions, but i make do, and both are medium.. not in cms lol so i have no idea..

@Hedgehopper

I have a Spa Steel Tourer. Brilliant stable handling. Rides great unloaded. Carries my 105kg and a couple of rear panniers well. Only thing that may or may not be an issue is limited tyre clearance by modern standards. I use 700x32s with mudguards. 700x35s work just. Though I find running V brakes 700x35s are tight getting the wheel in and out with the tyre fully inflated. The frame doest't let the brake blocks swing far enough out the way.

In contrast my Long Haul Trucker takes 700x45s and mudguards no problem.

Boardman waterproof gloves restocked at my local halfords, xl, lancaster.  I bought some at another store last week and good value.

My spa steel tourer runs 38c marathons, decathlon plastic clip on mudguards fit but really close clearance.

FREE TIGHTS! I have some bib tights from Polaris that I bought last week but they’re too small for me to wear liner shorts under. They’re on the website still, quality is excellent, windproof fronts and wide spaced straps. They do have “Kona” on the thigh and also across the back but these will be covered up with jackets/shorts. Just pay the postage, they cost £15 in the sale but with the amounts I’ve saved I can’t be bothered to send them back. Direct message me - if that’s working! Size medium…

Definitely worth haggling in Alpkit, I managed to negotiate a couple of hundred off a lightly used Cortex with 12 speed XT groupset, Helm MK2 forks and their upgraded Alpha wheels.

Give a cheeky low bid and work from there!

Might be worth buying for a mullet eeb - and keep the front as a spare rim or sell the wheel on.
