Superstar Components are doing their Nana Evo 2.0 pedals at 35% off with code NANOXXX. Takes them from £75 to £48.75, which seems reasonable for a UK made aluminium pedal to me. I'm running a couple of pairs of the Nano Evo and have been happy with them.

Oh, did they have any non-spd versions for flat pedallers? We went to Pear Mill on Sunday but didn;t bob into the shop, needed to get home for lunch

Also, Unite appear to have gone back to Anodizing, alongside Cerakote, which was most peoples main gripe with them.

That's nice for Unite. I went on the site to have a look: if I'm in Sweden, the Shimano oval chainrings are 44.43 Euros. In the UK, 53.31 Euros. How does that work? They're made in the UK, but are cheaper to buy from Sweden? Seems a bit weird, if you ask me.

How does that work?

20% VAT in the UK.  On delivery in Sweden you’d maybe have VAT and duty to pay on top.

Not exactly a PSA, but just to say that Works Components chainrings are £40 as standard, and they are a nice honest company to deal with IME.

Yeah. They still Cerakote, which is done in house I gather, where anodising is outsourced.

I ordered a 31.8mm anodised stem from them a few weeks back, it's a nice bit of kit.

Ah - I forgot about the Brexit effect. Awesome! And yes, 44.42 /5 X 6 does indeed come to 53.31. Slightly tempted to get it shipped to a Nordic pal. It does indeed look like very nice stuff.

My mate has one and it’s fantastic. Rival hydro possibly more reliable than Ultegra as well.
We’ve been watching the price for a friend of a friend and this is the lowest it’s been, and was great value at £1300.
Now £999

There is but you know that's not really the question flyingmonkey is asking

I've ordered small and medium spada trousers.  Usually a 32"S so will see which fit best, or if they're both just ridiculously long legged (like beyond a lengthy 31").

Re the spada trousers. What size would you recommend for someone 6ft3 and 34 waist? I've looked at the size guide and still not sure. Does the waist cinch in well with that ratchet design? And does it dig into your waist at all? I'm leaning towards a large and hoping they are both long enough and stay up.

Thanks

I'm 32" waist & leg all day long in most trousers. Just had the Small & Medium of the Spada waterproof trousers arrive and despite their sizing guide I can't get the Small any higher than my thighs and the legs are verging on spray on. Medium is ok, but still a slimmer than usual fit/cut.

Also FYI the pricing on the Spada site is the same as on Amazon, and they offer free shipping over £50 plus free returns

Ordered those Lyriks to replace my 4 year old Lyrik ultimates that have been creaking really badly. Tried all the Loctite tricks and nothing works.  As far as I can tell these are the exact same damper except from no HSC dial - so aslong as the internal setting they use is fine it will ride the same

Hopefully Sports direct will be ok with warranty if i this one creaks but I am doubtful!

some steep discounts on Felt bikes at merlin:

e.g. Claris equipped bike for £449 or 12 speed GRX gravel bike for £999

At that price they come boxed / unassembled. But if you are happy building your own bikes, its looks like a good deal .

Turbo Levo Comp Alloy 2024, £5.7k down to £3.9k inc the 20% off, in all sizes.

Sizing is way out on the Spada trousers.
You need to take a couple of inches off the waist measurements quoted in the size guide.
Stupidly tight at the ankles as well. Bad enough getting them on in the dry. Will be a real struggle when wet and cold.

Yeah I just got my mediums. I don’t think the sizing is wrong per se but the cut is unusual. The waist is true to size IMHO but they’re very tight around the thighs and the ankle is incredibly narrow. I can’t work out if that might keep me drier somehow. I’d be interested to know how a large compared but a larger waist is not what mine need.

OTOH they look well made and the material feels nice. Perhaps I’ll keep them.

Yes, IXS Flow pads fit fine - as above it's the thighs and ankles that are bizarrely tight.

I don’t think the sizing is wrong per se but the cut is unusual. The waist is true to size IMHO

True, but I'm wondering if the large will still cinch up OK at the waist, with the ratchet buckle, but be slightly less of a Kate Moss fit.

Spada large fit me very closely, no room for pads my legs are short but manly. Think Lou Ferrino befor he goes green but he’s just had a paper cut.
Ankle cuffs not terrible but generally as a wet weather uplift trouser needing pads, no way. For wet cross country, commuting or ebiking, maybe.
You’d need gaiter of some sort otherwise the water is going straight in the sock.
The expansion closure thing is good for before and after a massive fry up or pie.
Shame they seem decent quality the large isn’t long on me and my stumpy legs though. 31 inch jeans.

No chance. I found them pretty tight getting over my feet (admittedly poor design). I found socks helped putting the Spada trousers on and taking off. Though I am quite taken with the trousers as good quality. Will see how they wear over time.

Just got my Spadas and can echo the 'WTF' comments on the ankle cuffs and slightly odd sizing.

I ordered M and L, and I've not even tried the mediums on. The large are a bit big around the waist - I need to cinch them right down, though wearing bibs and tucking in a top should help with that - but preeeeeeetty snug across my mighty thighs. Knees are quite baggy, I assume to allow space for pads.

The ankles are tight. I'm hoping they might loosen a little bit with use, they're gonna be a pain to get off when they're pissing wet. Hopefully they'll go over SealSkinz and create quite a decent seal.

Mine have just arrived. I'm 1.92m tall, so went for the XXL. They seem to be really well made and feel great on my legs. The olive colour with the orange touches looks great. However they are way too short for me and as for the ankles- they are so tight I was slightly concerned about tearing them when I tried them on. There is a stretch panel to deal with this but even so I was a little worried and it took two of us to take them off.

It's a distinctive look that some people might like but they are not for me.

Just received 2 pairs of the spada pants in L and XL.

After comments about them went straight to the XL and they fit ok. The ankles are tight but do have a bit of give in them due to having an elasticated bit in them. Don't think they will stretch over winter boots

Definitely tighter at the top of the thighs. Will decide in next couple of days whether to keep the XL. Shame as they seem well made.
