Memory map app and os maps sale

The perpetual license allows you to use the map for as long as you like without ever having to worry about the licence expiring, but it does not include any map updates. Many of our customers are still using maps published many years ago, and that is fine when the hills don't change. However, footpaths and other man-made features do change, and it is important to know your rights of way and open access land areas. We find, in practice, most people update their maps at least every 5 years.

Click HERE for the 1:25,000 OS Explorer map (from £19.99)
Click HERE for the 1:50,000 OS Landranger map (from £15)
For more information see our website HERE.

@oldfart

I've a Hello Dave, pretty much the steel version of the Wrecker (so even heavier), and it rides just like a bike. It is amazing at going down steep trails, it's also surprisingly good at climbing steep trails, and is fine going along the flat too. It won't win any races: xc, Enduro or any other cycling discipline. It is however a very comfy, confidence inspiring mountain bike that doesn't cost the earth to own. I've had mine 3 years now and can't see me getting rid of it anytime soon. Would I have one as my only mountain bike? No, it's too specialised. But it makes a fantastic second or third bike.

You should try one, they're a right old laugh.

Cotic have some good deals on Taiwan-made Jeht at the moment as long as you don't mind brown (I quite like it).

£2699 for 12spd Deore, Revelation RC, Shimano MT620 wheels, Guide RSC G2 brakes etc.

If someone could go buy all the mediums before I cave and end up living in a bike box that would be super.

Taiwan Jeht

Yeah, I saw their post about that - good job I've recently changed my trail bike frame, or I'd have been tempted too.

Could come round to the colour.

It basically rides like a bike. As dinthurt says up above it's not going to win a race, but I don't race. It is awesome for zooming about in the woods, the peaks and it was great the one time I've bikepacked on it.

I'm at that annoying point where I don't need a new bike, I'm not riding enough to justify it, but hopefully I will be in the next year or two and this is exactly what I'll want then.

And my old 26" Rocket is definitely getting a bit tired, bless it.

Tempted.

Do it!

If you already know that you like the way full-sus Cotics ride (me too), then it seems a pretty safe bet.

Nothing gets you riding more than a new bike 😉

Blummin' love how my Rocket rides, and I've tried a few full sus bikes.

Trouble is, we need a new shed. And some roofing work. And the car's due its MOT. And I can't get out much because kids.

Also I still love the Rocket. And I've just put new tyres on it.

We can't help you if you won't help yourself

😉

But seriously, don't worry. Used prices are on the floor and you can probably buy a higher spec used one for less than £1.5k when you're ready.

That old chestnut Chain Reaction cycles (not sure if we’re still allowed to shop there in Stw-land!) have Brandx dropper 30.9 175mm drop for £85 (plus the jolly old postage of course these days)

Brandx lever kit (lever & cables) is only £13 too.

If you put links to the actual deals STW should get a little kick back for the transactions and people can actually see the deal, see I tried searching "tubeless gubbins" but it doesn't bring any results. 👍

Some very good prices on ION clobber on SportPursuit.

I've just ordered a waterproof jacket for £41 which appeared to RRP at £170-250. Plus some cheap undershorts, gloves, jersey etc.

Good quality stuff, from previous experience.

I'm now looking at the Eliminator 29x2.6 but still figuring out how it'd compare to a Butcher. I'm enjoying thePurgatory/GroundControl combo I fitted to my trail bike for summer but looking to replace a past-its-best 2.6 DHF on the front of the G16.

Butcher T9 Grid Trail is an acceptable front tyre. Pretty good in the dry and on rock, not so great in mud.

Hillbilly T9 Grid Trail is an excellent tyre, can be used as mud-specific or a 3-season all rounder depending how many other tyres/wheels you have. It's decent enough in the dry as well TBH.

A heads up that the description on thes Zebs says they are the charger 2.1 version, but the ones that arrived (for me at least) are the 2023 charger 3 version. So probably more of a bargain than it looks like on the surface.

Thanks to tyre advice from @Tracey and @chakaping, I've got 3 Hillbilly GRID Trail 29x2.4s on the way from Balfe's for a total of £56 all-in - for three tyres! (sign up to newsletter for £10 off a min £50 spend). Did some reading up on them after pointers above and sounds like a good front tyre for what I ride.

Yeah that eliminator seems a bit wasted in T9, good on the back in T7

T9 Butcher is a great tyre on my full sus bike only really struggles when its very muddy, I have a T7 on my hardtail and its also brilliant, until it doesnt hook up the way the T9 does and you end up on your arse!

I had a cheap Eliminator Grid on the back of my hardtail, was great, but sidewalls definitely weren't up to it, got the Grid Trail now and it's a huge improvement

But not quite as tough as double down, more like exo plus, I really rate it as a rear.

I was going to ask if someone wants a small. It does fit me at 56cm but its just a little too snug. I paid £45 so how about £50 posted? Or will return it.

If it bothers you, my missus says it definitely a "Bluey" helmet.

Cheers AG
