I like my brand-x. I had a slightly older one where the anodizing scraped off the shaft though, not sure if it was a mechanical failure or I used the wrong grease when servicing. New one seems fine.

The action isn't quite as nice as the similarly cheap level ones on Ribble, but I had issues with the head on that so can't recommend it unless you have a big box of spares to make it work with your saddle.

Only negative is they're ~100g heavier than posts that cost almost 10x more than that sale price.

ref: cables. I use a ZTTO lever which means both ends are terminated for minimum faff.

hah - cheers @mtbroutes - I also scripted something to pull everything into an excel sheet - some insight :

total products left in stock - 261,000
total value of stock left (at sale price) - £4.3mm
most units in stock - co2 cartridge (5000)
biggest potential future bargin - dropper posts (1100 in stock), doyene rim brake wheelset (122 in stock!)

excellent thanks @mtbroutes - there was a couple of items i'd been pondering that were down to last couple.

I did noticed a couple of items in stock on CRC but not on your sheet because they're not on wiggle. And one the other way round

most units in stock – co2 cartridge (5000)

I bought a box of ten of those.  Hope that helps the stock count.

biggest potential future bargin – dropper posts (1100 in stock)

I bought one of those.  May have jumped too early!

@MtbRoutes, awesome work.

I may have jumped early but that's two 150mm droppers ordered - future-planning for mini-a11y bikes (both can only manage 105mm drop on their current bikes, but at £36 a pop I'd be daft not to).

Other things that look good deals:

DHB Dorica MTB shoes @ £17 in EU47 or 48 (I know these've been cheaper in previous sales...)

Camelbak Hydrobak inc 1.5L Crux bladder £12.99 (I've bought it for the bladder only)

Camelbak Rogue inc 2.0L bladder £19.99

Lifeline Pro 12" adjustable wrench £4.99

Does anyone know if Nuke proof Urchin pedal rebuild kits are the same parts (apart form pins) as the adult pedals (which are apparently all identical). Debating stocking up on 99p rebuild kits for my £9.99 pedals.

Please bear in mind the stock levels are not real-time! Updated every evening.

Works well enough though, if there's 40+ of something quite expensive in stock and it's only a nice to have then I'll wait and see if it drops further.

Very good work. How long did that take to make?

Maybe if MTBRoutes had been involved in the website re-design we wouldn't be here ........

I actually even like the very Web 1.0 interface, if I'm going to get nostaligic about CRC, it's going to be ~2002 CRC 😂

they might have some kind of stock reservation on there? there's no way 122 sold in one go.

Mind you, they'd have been bonkers to have 122 in stock in the first place - it allegedly went from 122 yesterday to 50 today to 0 now. Maybe they're counting the spokes?

I bought the strawberry and the berry ones. They are fine. As in I'll never be snacking on them.

Torque gels are absolutely delicious and I'd probably rather be eating them.

These are fine. The caffeine hit was noticable

Managed to get a Camelbak and DHB base layer for £26, keep thinking I've done my last order and before I know it I've placed another £20+ order. Ive already ordered some tools and bits and bobs last week and a 105 cassette earlier this week!

That new programme is amazing, be interesting to see what's left when the stock levels have refreshed tomorrow. I'm waiting for the DHB Aeron shorts and merino wool leg and arm warmers for the road bike to drop a bit further and then I think I'm done.

I finally caved and ordered the Lifeline truing stand that I'd been watching for ages. With a question mark over it taking a 148mm hub I figured to get it while there's still a slight chance of it being returnable.

I wouldn't be too confident in returning anything now, given the closing date for bids is tomorrow. I assume that may be why all those wheels disappeared. I imagine bidders will want a decision quickly to avoid any more good stock disappearing.

Silly me ordered two sizes of endura shorts as unsure of fit.  Anybody want some cheap XL shorts?

I have;

Endura Humvee II 3/4 length (dark camo type ones which come with clickfast liner)

and

Endura Singletrack Lite in Black

Anybody want both?  Just PM me if you do.  Happy to do both for £40 inc. postage.

Cheers.

I would guess the big drop in stock on thos items will be because of this

Hard to know given they've got plenty left in stock, but I'm happy with the £36ea I paid for 150mm droppers. Yeah they might drop in price even more but they might also go out of stock...

Despite my last purchase a few weeks ago, I’ve just spent £40 on nick nacks for maintenance and also a pair of the nukeproof knee pads as my TLD are starting to come apart.

PayPal, so should be safe.

Waiting for that bearing press to drop to £30ish as that's really only how much it's worth.

@mtbroutes is there any way to work your magic on CRC? There are definitely items on CRC that aren't lsted on Wiggle

eg. Brand-X trekking bars.

Don't worry about it, I took a look at the page source and found the stock level myself.

For anyone interested just open the page source and do a CTRL-F for quantity, the line will look something like this:

{"inStock":true,"isStockLevelLow":false,"quantity":30}

So there are 30 sets of the trekking bars left.

It's clunky but handy if you find something on CRC that's missing from the Wiggle stock check, not as cool as MTBroutes effort though!

I think this more likely is the code that displays the low stock warning if the stock is under 30 not that there is 30 bars left. Could be wrong.

Both sites have a max of 30 items allowed in basket now. Previous version of sites didnt, so you could keep upping the qty until you saw what their actual stock was

Ok that really really really was my last CRC order!*

I had a few bits that I had been keeping an eye on in the hope of one last reduction (all had big quantities in stock, thank MtbRoutes, so was in no rush) but if they are now looking at securing a job lot buyer I wanted to get in before the weekend as I am nervous that they may not be here much longer now. I even used the savings the 10extra code gave me to cover the cost of next day delivery as I don’t fancy having an order sitting as pending for a few days at this stage.

*ok there is a saddle I am considering if it goes to a stupid price, so might be one last hurrah yet.

Those Doyenne wheels have returned.   9 sets, apparently.

Wonder if they want to give the impression that they have a limited quantity,  so that people will jump on them as it might appear to be their last chance to buy them?

Nah there are products with 2 or 3 in that response and you can only add 2 or 3 to basket. It's how the site works.

I suspect they're just finding that a box of "wheels" is not wheels so knocked the whole lot out of stock until they recounted them

Hoping my order does go through. Still processing from Sunday. Stuff I need, and nothing I don't. Two 10 speed chains - one is to go straight away on the CX bike, then a Spare UN300 BB, that's for the commuter, although the current UN300 seems to be lasting longer than the previous UN54/55's I've had before (on this bike).

Service is good. I had an order go missing at the Evri depot. Used the chat facility on Monday to try and chase it up. They said they will check.  Email today saying it's being refunded. Really needed the parts but I can't fault the service from the whole team in really difficult circumstances.

The lifeline pro wheel truing stands are down to 50 stirlings now, so 45 with the 10 extra code. I was optimistically hoping they'd go a bit lower, and maybe they will - but there was only about 100 left, and I don't want to miss out.

So that's my final CRC order done. Probably.....

Either, sympathy and a massive well done to all the staff  caught up in this.

I ordered the Lifeline truing stand on Wednesday evening using both EXTRA10 and 10EXTRA on the same basket (it only gave me 10% off once but I wasn't sure which would actually work). No dispatch notification but I had a parcelforce text this morning and it has shown up. 24 hour delivery even though I didn't pick the expedited option.

I've only used a Minoura stand before but by comparison the Lifeline is really nice quality, very heavy and able to make nice fine adjustments to the axle width and calliper position.

I've tested and found that the stand can indeed be used with a 148mm hub and a cheapo thru axle adapter when you wind it out to its widest setting. It isn't quite as designed but the wheel spins straight and aligns well with the calliper.

Shown is a 27.5" rear wheel, I think a 29" would fit with tyre also but I didn't bother testing.

My basket doesn't show any of the items as out of stock, but if you click through to the product pages some are gone and some show out of stock. I'm not going to risk it, I think this is the end.

Will my last order from a couple of days back make it to delivery? I'm not confident

they've had a few of these stock/website wobbles recently.  I've got an interesting one at the moment with an item in my basket showing I could by up to the 30 limit and I can get all the way to check out but go to the product page and it's out of stock.  The sites normally resolve themselves after a while.

I'm no wheel building expert but the Lifeline one is definitely sturdier and feels a step up in quality. It doesn't have the radial trueness thingy that the Minoura has but I was a bit puzzled why they had that in the place as I figured you could just adjust the calipers downward to do the same job.

I don't know how it compares to the Park, but I'm very happy that it'll serve my needs.

Yep, on CRC lots of 404 "we've taken you down the wrong trail" messages when trying to click on products that (notionally at least) still in stock. Have to wonder if the last orders we'd made will come through or just get cancelled now

My order of Prime carbon XC bars (£15 instead of £110) and an Ultegra cassette (£34) arrived no issues.

Most stuff now is very limited sizes, lots of clicking on links only to find it saying out of stock (even though you've selected "in stock only" filter).
