F***sakes. This thread. Went to CRC to buy 20 quid PF tool. Ended up with bb tool, seatpost, 2 pairs of grips, quick links, a helmet, a bloody hub, and a larger credit card bill.

so.. i have the e-mythique sat in my basket, I'm not going to... simply because i had made a promise to (myself) to get rid of stuff before buying a big ebike

they look remarkedly amazing value now... obviously, buying on the premise of no support , i would imagine the Bafang motor is easy to get support and repairs and/or replacement anyway in event of failure.

and responding to my own PSA, I’ve now also bought the 20+ for my daughter. Been wanting that bike for my 5 year old daughter since it was deeply discounted late last year, even though she’s still too small for it now.
Now I’ll be spending all summer measuring her inside leg and her asking me why… and wondering if I can hold out until her birthday in… January 2025!

It’s mad, her second bike has cost me less than her first did, a second hand frog 44! And this one’s got gears and disk brakes!

Do they have a dealer network and is it a popular motor?

I'd look into it carefully before taking the plunge, maybe ask on an eeb forum?

Can I ask, is there a way to run thru axle bikes with this type of trainer? Nothing on the Q&As on the site as far as I can see?

https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/elite-shaft-adapter-diameter-10-a-12/136056462/p?

Used this on mine. Looks like it shouldn't work but does. In fact I'm still using it with a lifeline dumb trainer and a power meter.

It's a bargain trainer at that price. Bearings on mine died in a damp shed with sprints up to 1250w after 3 years. Acceptable I thought.

Google Elite thru axle adapter

My chiggle fire sale bargain pick of the day:

BX replacement dropper cartridges £2.99

Made sure to get an order in for 3 before sharing 😉 (if I'm lucky the order will turn up before they go pop).

I'd rather be able to repair a discontinued dropper 3 times over at 3 quid a throw than have to buy a new one...

those hoses are ok, ive used them a few times. i dont believe the reviews of hoses just exploading. the hayes ones look identical to the oem ones. The shimano and sram hoses look identical to other reputable resellers hoses.

Down to the last of the top spec megas and gigas now in small and xxl. The code EXTRA10 works on CRC, bringing a 6.5k bike with XX/X0 AXS t type, Zeb ultimate,  code rsc and revive dropper down to less than 3k. Worth buying to then do a frame swap, even if you hang the wrong size giga frame on the wall!

I did spend a while looking at the Hope F22 in black £102 minus 10%. They've gone now which is probably for the best as I've heard they don't suit a mid foot position very well as they're longer in front of the axle than behind

Daughter announced tonight her SPD shoes are too small so also hopefully some of the remaining 38s (of any shoe) will drop.

Order processing definitely slower but not surprising. Last order I placed was Monday last week is despatched but not yet showing with EVRI.

It does: https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/nukeproof-megawatt-297-comp-alloy-bike-advent-x. The GX model at same price appears to have sold out. That's a lot of bike for £1800.

I've been watching those Rapide FS for a while and was hoping size L was going to drop again after the weekend.  Sunday morning though and a couple sold overnight so only 1 left.... so I bought the last one at £2025 plus delivery after code.

Absolute bargain - a heck of a lot of bike for the money.  Just compare against what NS sell the synonym at let alone what other manufacturers are selling carbon frame/rims, SID Ultimate, decent kit and brakes, SRAM AXS... wow.

I pulled forward a longer term bike purchase as I can't see anything touching that in value for a long time.

Was having this discussion about nukeproof and vitus bikes earlier  , would it be possible to charge back on a section 75 if it breaks assuming you’ve bought on a credit card

Agreed @stevedoc. I bought a vitus before Xmas but it was with the full knowledge that I may be left with a support problem. The parts were worth way more than what I paid for the whole bike though.

I am kind of considering buying another full bike to sell all the parts and get a spare frame almost for free. A lot of faff and risk though.

If someone could buy all the XXL megas left then I'd really appreciate it so I can stop thinking about it!

Pretty sure that there's a time limit on a section 75 charge back - 3 or 6 months? Something like that. You'd also need the agreement by your card supplier that the item was faulty at the point of purchase iirc.

You always see people discuss section 75 but I've never seen anyone discuss using it and wether it was successful or not. I'd assume it isn't as clear cut as some people think.
