Looks like my wheels are getting delivered today and the step cast fork is in transit for delivery on Friday.

I really hope they are 26" wheels like the listing said.

Got dispatch notes for all my Wiggle steals bar one, but it's not been cancelled either.

and sell on the spare Pro5 wheels, Pro4 hubs and Fortus rims.

I suspect there's going to be a bit of a glut of Hope stuff on eBay over the coming months.

😀

I placed a few orders. I noticed that at one point Wiggle+ next day delivery stopped being an option. Everything ordered on Wiggle+ arrived the next day (yesterday) except for a couple items due this morning. No picking errors either. Given how much duress staff and systems must be under, thats pretty fantastic service. Thanks Wiggle!

(I also have a few orders that havent processed)

I've got 2 dispatched from 5 orders (I know I didn't want to either, but stuff was selling out so fast and that includes one from pre the mega sale and one from yesterday)

I don't really need the Hope wheel, but I could really use the Poc sunnies.

Managed to snag a couple of GP 5000 tyres at half price plus some 100% sunnies and a bargain (as long as it fits) Leatt jacket. Had a dispatch notice so fingers crossed.

Lost the will to live browsing and managed to stop myself buying stuff I don’t need.

Jkomo-

Commute was 6 flattish city miles this morning.

I'm not sure how the 'range' of 2 gears would cope on hills, but haven't figured out what the different colours represent in terms of 'power' settings.

Had a flick through them, but couldn't tell much difference.

I'd be looking for something a bit more speed orientated for a 20 mile commute.

I have an old ridgeback flight converted with a swytch kit, that I used to do 25 miles each way on. That bike is a lot nipper than the Buzzbike, but has a 52t cog on the front, and 11-42 on the back.

@woodster (or anyone else) that no longer needs their 27.5 hope rear boost wheel. I'd be interested. 30/35. Most hub variations considered. Thanks 🙏

My 27.5 Lyrik Ultimates just arrived. How have we had these for £220 instead of £1000? it's madness!

The price is up to £600 now, but out of stock

Well colour me chuffed to bloody bits.

£286 delivered Zipp 1Zero Hitop 30mm, 1500 gram (just weighed 'em) Carbon wheels.

I do feel a pang of guilt and bad for the staff involved, and I do need to swap XD for Microspline but even so, given that I was actively searching for some nice XC/Trail type wheels and only dreaming of carbon, I am well, well pleased.

20240228_12352020240228_123514

I was slightly tempted to pay a little more and get the real fancy ones with tyrewiz etc, but I am actively avoiding batteries and electronics on my bike so I'm not too fussed.

well it seems my hope wheel hasnt been shipped, only had one box delivered (fox elbow pads, very happy), should have been two, rang parcelforce they confirmed they've only had one parcel from supplier, not counting my eggs till they are in hand

@whatyadoinsucka those wheels came in completely seperate shipments, with notifications hours apart despite being one order. I did get in a bit of tizz thinking I was gonna end up with a front and not a rear.... Dont panic just yet.

My wheels were just in the Hope box with a parcelforce sticker so they travelled together but separately

Came with a valve and a roll of rim tape, which was nice

My current osprey aether ag 70 is too large for me, stupidly bought the wrong back length, so was looking for a suitably sized replacement, but couldn't afford one.

Whilst having a nosey on wiggle the other day noticed an Osprey Aether plus 60 s/m for £67.99. Think I can live with 10ish Litres less volume.

Meant to arrive tomorrow.

I currently have a front but not a rear of the more expensive SW version. The rear has apparently been shipped separately but has not arrived yet...  It's only gonna cost me ~900 quid to buy a rear if the wiggle one doesn't show up. Currently contemplating which child to sacrifice to the Parcelforce gods... #firstworldproblems

crc now have some 50mm deep section carbon (rim brake) wheels for £270 a pair, £50 less than last night. Took a punt.

They also have at least 30 26" dj wheelsets in stock at £200 a pop. I can't imagine they'll get that much for them, so look forwards to them plummeting in price soon

Was quite keen on the chasing and facing kit for bsa bottom brackets. Down from £300 to £100. Then I noticed the cutters were brass rather than steel.

you sure onza? they should be some sintered cutting material, you aren't cutting anything with a brass cutting face

No, I'm not sure, I was just going off what was said in the comments. Like you say, brass really doesn't make sense but they didn't seem to be hardened steel.

TiN coating is pretty common on cutting tools and would explain the brass colour.

Apparently my Hope Fortus back wheel for £62 arrived today (wife moaned I’ve bought a new wheel) - when I get home from work I’ll see if it’s right.

I only want the pro 5 hub with microspline freehub out of it as I have a new ex511 rim to build onto it. Will attempt to sell the Fortus 27.5” rim on eBay that I don’t need.

Yep, agree that TiN would explain it but the other worry is that apparently the instructions say they are for thread cleaning only and not to be used for thread cutting.
I'd take a punt if I could return it.
It's also not something I need to have, just a nice workshop item.

Grx810 bits arrived today and to my surprise is retail boxed. Rh shifter with caliper and Lh shifter for £100! Quite happy with that. Just need to work out if the single shifter comes prefilled with brake fluid like the sets do. My other orders are all still processing.

There's probably an account manager of a cardboard company absolutely creaming themselves over the amount of boxes being ordered.

Cash up front though, eh?

My Hope rear wheel arrived too. Was going to fit it to my (mullet) ebike, but it's got an alu HG freehub with 104 POE. That's not going to last long with the cheap 10 speed cassette I was planning to use (no carrier).

Anyone have a steel ebike HG or microspline freehub they want to swap??

DHB helmets for a tenner - they look quite nice although not MIPS.

Just bought the Aeron super light roadie waterproof and a Nukeproof MTB one for £84 together. The roadie one had been out of stock for ages but is now back in.

If they did another big discount I think it would be gone in a matter of days.

Important one for those with Vitus/Nukeproof bikes and frames is that small parts like shock bolts etc look like they are now all down to 99p or so....this might be the last chance to grab some spares!

Leatt 3df 5 knee pads arrived, I think they were £30. I was hoping they’d replace my knackered Kyle Straits. The Leatt are really thin, and if I punch my knee, I can feel it. I need something more baseball bat proof. Disappointed.

Have been keeping an eye on the Nukeproof 2.5l waterproof jackets. They were £90 down from £150 for ages then yesterday they went to £60 so ordered. Now they are £45!, red and grey all sizes - bargain at that price.

Now OOS but these are excellent - bought them for the kids for Christmas when they were cheap (but not this cheap) in the sales then. Not greatly absorbant for drying yourself, but good enough to be a DRW. The DHB equivalents are on Wiggle reduced but not as cheap as the NP ones were: https://www.wiggle.com/search?query=DHB+robe

Also, excellent MTBing softshells @ £36 (I bought 2 yesterday for Mrs a11y and me when they were £48...):  https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/dhb-trail-mens-hooded-softshell-jacket

Gutted to miss the chance to become a DRW for £27, now watching the DHB ones for a price drop.

They're good for post-ride changing if you've just sold your van so can't change in the back anymore, I assume?

@a11y what size did you get for your 11yo and how tall are they?

Medium adult NP ones, kids are 157cm (decent fit with plenty of growing room) and 148cm (swamped by it, the 'short' sleeves come down to her wrists!). I assume the DHB ones are similar sizing.

Just ordered the Softshell jacket, decent price and code worked, and I had been looking for one for a while.

As above, potentially my last ever purchase from CRC who I’ve spent a fortune with over the years.  I wish the best for everyone who remains there, and those that have already been let go, and hope they do find alternate employment quickly.

End of an era.
