Cheap plastic Elite are less than half that price, lighter, and don't snap.

I'm out. 🙂

I've just snapped my alu cage that's the same design. Happened a few times now where the weld splits.

Any real world reviews on this? Any stronger than Alu or just lighter? Not bothered by weight really.

Aye, but were they actual enduro cages? where were they tested? on DH runs? at the 50:1? define a bottle cage run? do you even complain bro?

To be proper bottle cages, they need to race EWS, get onto the podium, make the manufacturers top 10, and ONLY THEN will Endurotrash consider them to be..... a bottle cage.

Tbh since I started using ones that were actually designed for MTB and reinforced in all the right places  (Blackburn MTN) I stopped breaking them .

Conincidencely I also stopped losing bottles. Around the point.

Only thing I hate about my ibis is lack of usable bottle bosses 🙁

I use the Mt Zoom ti ones which are excellent, and I've not broken one!

Carbon ones invariably rattle, and you can't make them hold bottles more tightly.

I prefer the Zee cages with side access. Being short of leg, it's easier to get bottles in and out.

I had the alu version of that cage years ago.  It quickly bent/shook to be loose so bottles fell out.  probably still in a box somewhere.

I've never lost a bottle from a Rib Cage -  https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specialized_rib_cage_2_road_mountain_bottle_cage_2016-ID_65418

I’ve got one already to match my ti frame, couldn’t afford 2, so I’ve now ordered one to match.

First one didn’t snap.

I ordered two perfectly good plastic bottle cages from PX for a pound each last week. I’m sure they would do, but they won’t be going on.

Well a lesser cage might let your bottle fly out into the undergrowth, then someone will say what is lost can never be saved.

Cheap plastic Elite are less than half that price, lighter, and don’t snap.

But they do go baggy overtime and drop bottles

Interestingly - the picture has changed from this morning.  There was a "Specialized" written on the arch, but now its an "S" on the bridge which I think looks better.

In the same way that I can buy Tesco value wine for less than a Sancere.  Both are technically wine and will function fine for getting drunk, but one is distinctly nicer in use than the other.
