Apols if already done

I posted not long back saying I haven’t missed premium, and in many ways I haven’t, however 25% off, it makes it more the price it should be

Available to 31/12/22

I use garmin connect which is free to use and gives you loads of data for your HR and power ETC. Don't even need a garmin as you can upload .fit files. I use trailforks for MTB trails and strava just to see what friends are doing. Pro doesn't offer anything I can't get for free.

Cheeky sods, not for existing premium subscribers and unless I missed it, they didn't even offer the "buy a year gift and get two months free" around Black Friday.

I guess one option is create a new account and get the discount (so ~£36 for 12 months, or did they increase the standard sub to £54 from ~£48?), or just simply cancel the year subs auto-renewal and go free.

I've not missed the things that I don't get with Premium, so despite it not being about £36 quid, it is still about 16 quid too expensive for me. This seems to coincide with me becoming more anti-social and riding more on my own...so I suspect I'm fine getting the interesting stuff from Garmin and not really bothering about the social side now...I still follow friends and give them kudos, but I'm not really doing the challenges or bothering about how far away from the KOM I am.

I am trying to see if I can get the segments created in Garmin to see if my Garmin will alert me to them - as much as it has been a few years since Strava stopped doing this, I did find it interesting, so if I can get similar with Garmin it might be used again.

So after all that sad-sack info...I'm still not seeing the value in using Strava in Premium mode, but aware I'm probably not using it like those who do pay for it are - I get all the stats I need from Garmin, so Strava doesn't offer me anything other than seeing what my friends have been doing - which it does with the free account.

Hmmmm...been a long time Strava subscriber and it's irritating the discount isn't available to existing subscribers.

I've just had a look at the list of "subscriber-only" features and personal heatmaps are really the only thing I'd miss so I'm considering cancelling and re-subscribing with the discount. But I can't find any info on how long the discount applies for or any other conditions...

I've had a quick look but can't find how much the current subscription rate is as your forced into a free trial if you're not signed in. I think I'm grandfathered in at a $6USD/month rate for some reason.

After a bit of digging around, even with the 25% discount (which only applies to yearly subscriptions, and only for the first year), I'd be paying more than I am at the moment...
So, if you're already a subscriber, be aware you may end up paying more by canceling and starting a new account...

Their various offers have been pretty constant for a while now, Im starting to wonder whether they are losing subscribers and need to push to maintain some kind of growth, after all I think they are VC funded IIRC
