couldn't find this already posted using search function, getting hot on HUKD and stock has come and gone and come again. Currently have lemon and berry flavours. Normally £4 a tube so if you use it seems mad not to stock up.

Or buy 10 tubes for £10 and get free postage. No brainer vs paying £8.99 for 5 tubes.

yeah sorry forgot to mention that, I bought 3 sets (ie. 15 tubes) in the end as either we'll get through em or someone else we ride/train with will have them off us.

Not on Topcashback but I sucked that one up and took one for the team 🙂

Thanks for that. Normally use High 5, chunk cheaper and enough bought to keep us sorted for summer.

for that price both and get free postage (given postage is 4 quid for orders less than £10 youre effectively only paying a quid for another 5 tubes, as allthepies points out).

Serious question, why do people buy/use these? Is it "starved" training?

we at TORQ feel that the public are being grossly misled into buying a product that offers a fraction of the benefits they think it does

http://www.torqfitness.co.uk/news/electrolyte-tablets

I am not affiliated with TORQ!

From al's link:

"As part of a fuelling/hydration strategy: As discussed earlier, their (sic) is a perfectly valid use for an electrolyte tablet if you’re prepared to address your fuelling separately by consuming energy bars/gels/other high carbohydrate food with them. If this is your preference there is nothing wrong with that, but expect your strategy to be expensive and note that you will have to consume artificial sweeteners. Our main issue is that most people don’t realise how much they need to eat with these tablets and the expense involved."

I thought the whole point of them was to use them as part of a fuelling/hydration strategy? If you think a zero carbohydrate tablet is somehow going to fuel you around a hard ride, then yes, perhaps you need to read the packet.

And it's obviously more expensive than drinking water alone, although at a tenner for 100 tabs, not a lot. And I notice that the price of Torq gels/energy drinks isn't compared with the cost of a slice of malt-loaf or half a banana.

Anecdotally, of course, I buy them because I've noticed that I'm less likely to cramp up on longer, hotter rides than with water alone.

my susceptibility to dehydration is different to my fuel requirement. I am very prone to illness from dehydration, I can quite easily (ie. not just through training but a hard night shift where I don't feel thirsty or drink enough) spend a day being physically sick as a result.

My road rides tend to be ~2hrs of smashing myself, I don't want or need carbs but I will sweat and dehydrate.

Torq deriding electrolytes sounds similar to Chris King knocking other standards of headset, right up until they started making them.

Nice one, ordered 🙂

You can mix & match the two flavours, I prefer the lemon but don't totally dislike the berry so I ordered seven lemon and three berry, still comes to a tenner.

Why not though? Why hamper your performance/recovery by not fuelling?

I got to liking them because my water bottles made plain water taste rank. I felt they did make a difference when riding in really hot and humid weather, perhaps not such an issue in Fife, but when touring in the US they were a lifesaver.

Top PSA, ordered 15. 😀

Regarding comments sbove, I chuck one in my energy drink on longer rides. Not sure if it makes any difference but in my head I am arming myself against the dreaded calf cramps! !

save the link- they ran out of stock a few days ago (having only had Cola left 😯 ) so the berry and lemon we've all been snapping up have been added since the promotion started.

Too late to edit my previous post.

I called customer services and they've sorted out my order instantly, seems there was a discrepancy between what I had ordered and paid for and what I'd been sent v what I thought I had thought I'd ordered and paid for.

Excellent response, will happily buy stuff from them again.
