Worth a punt, thanks.

Seen this as well for £20 if anyone is looking for a pack.

Good spot Tracey, have ordered a pair of clipless shoes. Tempted to order a pair of the flats for casual use for that price.

I'm taking a punt on the heater GTX shoes, cheaper than second hand Shimano shoes. All the other Scott kit we have had is good quality so hopefully these are the same. Just the usual gamble on sizing, relaxed fit apparently...

Cheers OP.
How do the Scott shoes compare with Shimano sizing and fit?

A Google search suggest they size up smaller than Shimano, I'm 44 in Shimano so I've gone for a 43. I figure I won't need to wear thick socks under these

Anyone tried the Scott FR10 flat shoes?
How do they compare to Five Ten Freeriders?

This is still working by the way 😀

Thanks for the PSA Tracey. I bought a set of flats a while back to play around on, but haven't found an equally cheap shoe to test with. This should be a good combo to play around with.

My boots arrived today, only a test fit so far but they look and feel great.
Cant wait to test them out.
Just need the new cleats to be delivered by CRC............
I notice that the price on the website has gone up from £70 to £79, probably because of the interest this thread has generated.

My flats and the rucksack have arrived.

Rucksack probably won’t make it to the missus as it’s lovely.

Shoes seem nice, I’m a 9 and went for a 44 as my feet are pretty wide. Seems like the right choice.

Went for a 43 and I'm a 9 with narrow feet, had to get the 44 shimano black and blue Am-whatevers. Will report back when they arrive.

not when you put it in a basket though, which is weird. Just ordered a pair for the original price less the still-functioning code. Went for my normal size despite having wide feet, will see how they work out.

Sounds like a case of 'fill your boots' hehe

they seem to be catching up - as of an hour ago the list price is now £79, but the code still worked.... they seem to be taking lessons from Amazon pricing.

Both of my pairs arrived today, despite both being size 45,the flats are a little tight but not uncomfortable, the clips feel spot on...
Once worn in the flats will be fine.

My Scott gortex boots turned up today.

These are similar to my Northwave Celsius boots in that they have a fast closing system but the Scott boots have 3 Velcro closings which seem to secure the boot better. My criticism of the nw boots was that I couldn't get them tight enough so my feet slipped about. The newer version have boa laces to fix this.

I'm a 45 in shimano and the 45 Scott feels a great fit (in the house) the nw 45 was too big and the 44 too small.

Build quality seems good. Very impressed with them.

Thanks tracey. Much appreciated

I echo Damascus' comments. Got my boots this morning, really happy with them. Appear to be good quality, fit is good. 43 fits me nicely, I'm normally a 44 in Shimano.

Thanks for the heads up Tracey.
I went for the clipless shoes but intend to use then on flats (didn't fancy the green colour of the flat shoe), If they don't work, it's not a great loss at that price.

Mine turned up yesterday, 43 is an excellent fit. I run 44 shimano am9 shoes. Will save them for summer i think.

I got the FR 10 flat shoes in same size (9.5/44) as my 510 Canvas Freeriders. The Scott FR 10's are narrower at the knuckle with a bit less toe room. For price will keep and hope they become more accommodating.

How does the sole compare to Freeriders for grip/stickiness?

@Simon - They are nowhere in the same league. The soles & tread are quite stiff out of the box. I've only ridden in them once, I hope that they soften up with use.

I cycled home in rain, sleet and snow in my Scott gortex shoes today. I'm really impressed with them, a great boot. Feet stayed warm and dry.

They still have some available but the price has gone up to £79 but there's 10% off. Still a bargain for a gortex boot.

Yeah I'm using them on my commutes as they'll probably last a lot longer than my freeriders (it's not cold enough down souf to get cold feet yet).
