You just swap out the Debonair air shaft - approx £30 I think.

Good wee fork, a bit hampered by the MoCo damper. Lots of upgrade options if required though, from a Novyparts Splug to Fast RevUp to a Charger Damper (if you can find one)

Nice fork, I upgraded my 2018s after some advice on here. They had the moco damper.
I spoke to SRAM tech before doing it and was told that from 2018 if the damper had charger wrote on the blue cap then it was a later one that wasn't a moco. Depending on the year of the Wiggle ones you may be lucky.
At that price they are steal

Shall I Tracey....?
Then I just need some straight steerer 26er coils, and my pointless impulse fork collection is complete....

Well just ordered one of these. Just need to work out how to reduce travel to 120mm.

Looks like the will do the trick but need to speak to TF to see if I need the Pike or Lyrik/Yari version.

I don't need any but they are a good fork. They are going for more than that second hand.
All our spares are 29 now, although I have some 29 170mm Lyrik Select taken off a new bike that I need to get round to selling

Would make sense to get them and send back or sell the Fox ones.

Wiggle QA says “This has the Motion Control damper and the model year is 2019.”

Do these come with tokens installed, i.e if you buy the 140mm will it offer 140mm travel as it comes, or do you need to take the fork apart and remove the tokens ?

Two tokens included in the 140mm version, according to this review

If they turn up with moco a quick search on ebay will find a charger damper, new and used, to fit them.
It's definitely worth the upgrade

What's the issue with the standard motion control dampner ?

I didn't have a problem with mine, fork needed a service and was done on the recommendations from here, but after fitting the upgrade the fork feels alot better on the ruff stuff.
Someone will come along to explain it better.
The tokens don't alter the fork travel. If you want to change that then you will need to swap the air shaft.

Motion Control (Moco) damper is somewhat rudimentary in the way it works and I know of two that have broken in the same way (mine and my mates - both fixed by our engineering mate) See https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/revelation-damper-motion-control-upgrade-boost-vs-non-boost/#post-11251423

My daughter has a trek Roscoe, so has the 27.5+ plus tyre, 4”.

I’m pretty sure (without checking) that it has a 29r fork to accommodate the fat tyre.

It has a Judy silver, so I’m thinking this is going to be waaaaaaay better???

Edit, just checked, it’s a 120mm travel so this might fandango the geo?

Nothing really. Pinkbike and Bikeradar reviewers both like it. A few people on internet forums moan about it not being good enough but people who actually know what they're talking about think it works fine. I'm certainly happy with the one in my Revelation, but I'm also happy with the Charger in my Pike.

The people who know what they’re talking about tend to say it’s fine but gets out of its depth on the fast and rough. I echo those thoughts having had 2 MoCo forks in the last few years. They feel like the have a threshold before the damper throws it’s arms up and says “nope”, a Charger damper (or other) upgrade isn’t earth shattering but helps that issue go away

Absolutely as above. I had a Yari with MC and Pike with charger at the same time. The Yari was fine for the most part, until things got a bit naughty, at which point they gave up. At the time you could buy Pikes for not much more so it was a no brainer.

Damn

The Rev is essentially identical to a Pike but with lesser internals.

I have a set of Revs that I gutted from new and replaced with a Charger 2.1 and an uprated (and different travel) air shaft. The end result is a Pike Ultimate in all but serial number.

Arguably, it may have been cheaper to just buy a Pike Ultimate fork, but the Revs came on a brand new bike and it was at the start of Covid, so I managed to get hold of a Charger 2.1 from Bike24 before they all got sold and then managed to sell all of the internals (MoCo etc) via STW when the world was going mad for bike parts.

For info it comes with one 1 bottomless token fitted and 2 in the box, so total of 3.

Mine also came today.  Look OK, no tokens in my box though and only the grey decals in there.  Is it still worth chucking extra oil in RS forks these days or is that a thing of the past now?

Mine arrived a few days ago. MoCo damper, 2x tokens in the box and very dark grey or black decals.

Annoyingly as I stashed them in the garage I found a pair of Pikes I’d forgotten I had. I should really avoid these PSA threads

So my Revelation turned up yesterday from CRC.

Question: It's making a distinct "squelching" noise when compressing the fork down (not fitted to bike yet), no air tokens in the box. I'm thinking this is likely air in the oil dampner ? or could it just be due to these having sat on a warehouse shelf for a few years (2019), and just needs a good thrashing ? I have read this noise can sometimes be fixed by adjusting the rebound.

Also anyone set their's up with no air tokens, tempted to open it up and remove them.

Think it's normal and will dissappear riding it. It's an open damper. Air can mix when the fork is the wrong way up.

Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking this could go away with riding them. Most likely these have sat in a box for a good few years.
