I'd love a hanger as well please, if there are any spare. Amazing work by the way!

Cheers

Kermit4king - this is my DJ bike I built years ago, it's a Dialled Holeshot with homemade horizontal dropouts welded on. The brake mount is fixed position but works well enough even though the alignment isn't perfect unless the wheel is centered in the slot.

In terms of strength they should be slightly stronger than the original. Dimension wise the should be the same thickness as the original and only about 1mm wider at the thinnest point, but I bet the 6082 I've used is much better quality than the mild brie the originals are probably made of!

Does anyone know if this hanger fits a Vitus Nucleus 27.5? I’m finding it hard working out what it should have!

Possible singlespeed dropout design, not convinced it will clamp tight enough not to slide though.

@Geforcejunky What do you do/normally make on a day to day basis? Impressive how quickly these designs are put together.

@GeForceJunky - most of them have some form of threaded tensioner?

I do quite a lot of custom hand tooling design for assembling stuff, so often make prototypes/one-offs. Also do a lot of testing on machine tools so sometimes make fixtures and test pieces.

Kramer - good thinking, will add something. Hard to do on disc side without making the axle longer.

I machined a second batch of hangers today and I think I have messaged everybody on this thread who has asked for one. If you want one and haven't received a message, send me a pm asap. I have a couple of spares, but not many. The first batch was sent via Royal Mail 2nd class yesterday.

Lovely, thank you.

This has removed me to look back at the photos and see how everyone else has done their cabling. Because hoses and cables entering guides on the same side of the head tube as the device which actuates them is not ok.

Hi,

If there are any remaining hangers - suitable for my big al - I'd be very grateful to purchase.

If not, will run the gauntlet!

That is a really nice looking bike there, the white, chrome badge, stem and bar really go together well.

Stubbing stem? I have a silver one and a carbon bar on my Stumpjumper and really like them, for the money those stubbing stems were a steal.

What are your intentions - sell the XL, or see which one you prefer?

I have put the XL on Pinkike as while the standover is fine and the 175mm seat post is spot on, it might feel a stretch too far in terms of reach perhaps, although it's not too bad in isolation, same as my Foxy L.

Hanger wise I have 3 left unsold, but about 7 people haven't replied. Assuming I can find some suitable offcuts of metal I'll probably do another batch at some point, probably after Christmas though.

The quality of the packaging was almost as good as the hanger!

Thanks for being awesome and making this happen for lots of people.

Glad to hear they are arriving ok. It would be good if a couple of people could confirm they fit fine, as I've only tested them on my frame! I'm just labelling up the second batch, which I was going to post yesterday but forgot the printed labels so now would be a good find to double check.

Can you tell I have postage label OCD, they aren't coming off!

If I were to machine a matching silver dropout for the non-driveside, would anyone be interested @ +£7 on new orders or £9 posted to those who've already had theirs posted?

Haha, I am currently designing some crowns to make a Rockshox Bari fork. Need a cheap 29" DH fork to go on my discount Nukeproof Dessent frame. So I'm using some 29" Yari lowers on older 26" boxxers, but need wider crowns to make it work.

Got my hanger today. Thanks again so much for making these!

Cold logic suggests I definitely don’t NEED a matching silver one for the other side, but £9 and slight OCD tendencies suggest otherwise…

Does the non drive side one ever break? Or would I just be buying a silver one to cosmetically match GFJ’s drive side hanger?

Non-driveside should never break, these are purely to match the colour for those that like the silver look. I will message those who have expressed interest, I didn't make too many. I also have a few more hangers in stock, not planning on making any more as it sounds like Betd should start producing them next year.

@GeForceJunky If you have any hangers left (preferably a pair) I would be interested!

These bargain bucket Ragleys came right at a time I was considering selling the 2023 Big Al frame I paid full price for, I don't think I will be doing that now so may as well get some nice bling bits for it!

Just been out for a local ride. This bike (Ragley 290 with 140mm Pike RC) makes me smile so much, it’s just so much fun.

I’m finding myself planning adventures on it. I honestly think that if I’d discovered bikes like this before I’d bought my full sus, I might never have moved to full suspension.

Yes, I'm finding my Big Al with 150mm Revelations is closer in feel to my full sus (Bird Aether 9), than my other hard tail, a Vitus Sentier. I used the Sentier to ride local woods, bridleways etc with fast rolling tyres and the Big Al with fat grippy rubber to tackle everything else. The full sus will now be more of a summer bike to save on cleaning etc.

It just seems to encourage hooligan riding.

Line up.

Control speed until it starts to slip.

Brakes off.

Fingers crossed.

Can anyone recommend where to get replacement hanger bolts from to replace the brie ones that come with Ragley frames? I have a 2022 BigWig if that helps. Also, if anyone knows the exact size of bolt I need to order that would much appreciated. TIA

Bummer, I've literally put your hanger in the post 1/2 hour ago. I have some spare stainless torx I could have included 🙁 The Ali frames use M5x12mm, steel are M5x10mm.

Cheers for the link - just ordered some

Just a thought though - are the oe ones made of cheese so they are the sacrificial part in the event of a crash - so as not to damage the frame threads?

Rode my Marley 290 for the first time the other day. I think I may have buggered around with the geo a bit too much 😀

Mullet with a 2.6 HR2 on the back, -2 amgleset, 150mm Bomberz2s, 35mm rise bars. 170mm cranks, Feels like a chopper! Only a short spin up the road, I'll give it a proper go in the mud soon.
Think I'll be buying a few of those reduced xm481s for a non mullet rebuild!
