Looped through Pentlands tonight and the dusty trails are gone for the time being.

It was far, far wetter than I'd imagined even factoring in the weekend rain. Staying off the more delicate trails until it dries up a bit might be a good plan, and go canny on the steeper surfaced stuff, there's a lot of gullying about. Plenty of standing water on the flatter farm tracks too. I WANT SUMMER BACK!!!

Thanks for the heads-up. I was planning a couple of rides up there over the next few days. At least I have a rough idea of what to expect/avoid.

I always treat the Pentlands as being soft and wet - it's a nice surprise when it turns out otherwise!

Not surprised - it was pretty moist on Saturday morning before the second biblical storm of the weekend and yesterdays rain. Pray for some sun and a bit of wind to dry it out a bit!

Was out yesterday and figured that would be the case so just stuck to the better-surfaced stuff. Maidens had a river running down it 🙂
