Also there will be a mountain bike marathon in the Pentlands on 29 September. Not sure where, or what distance it will be.

That's the one that's supposed to have "thousands" of riders. I was at a meeting with landowners, rangers and some access folk a few weeks back and very little was known about it other than Edinburgh Council were strongly backing it. At that time, they hadn't worked out a route or even a "hub". I am curious as to who these riders are that are taking part in an event just weeks away that doesn't yet seem to have any publicity around it 🙂
