use code PXLIQUID35
thanks for that 🙂
thanks for that
OMG! t.o.t.a.l.l.y. f.a.t. c.u.r.i.o.u.s.
Must resist... I have 11 bikes already... 😳
That is a deal though..
It's even quite an attractive looking thing - which is saying something for O-O - and it's aluminium! 😯
And Floaters are in the 35% liquidation sale, so that would be a pair for less than 35 quid.
Days after I bought a pair for £50...
send them back for a refund and buy 2 more
Is that Planet X On One gone under then? Just wondering how it can be a liquidation sale if they're still in business. I thought that was what happened when companies went bankrupt.
It's Stock Liquadation not the company.
£650 for a fatty. 😯
Hugely tempted to buy a frame and wheels to stick in the garage for when i want to try a fat bike
Was tempted, but the trail is designed for the £400 bluto...
It works out cheaper to buy the x5 version.
Lester- it'll cost me 15 quid to post em back they are so heavy 😉
Drac - Moderator£650 for a fatty.
Just price correcting now that there's competition tbh. Probably not quite there yet tbh, I think it'll either settle permanently at about £600 (*), or get discontinued.
(* always "on discount" of course)
@ crash test monkey
i thought planet x had a £4.50 return deal with collect plus?
sorry 🙁
Actually £585 for an X5 Fatty!
*repeats ad nauseam* I don't need another bike, I don't need.....
Possibly, you're obviously more on it than me. Will have a look, ta.
650 is for the Fatty with carbon fork, which is decent, but that's still 250-300 more than a new Wazoo, how much is a pair of carbon forks?
frames showing at £130 now. Not that I need another bike.
Retro, takes 35% off listed price at basket with the code (seems to apply automatically).
how much are rigid fatty forks?
Why isnt the large blue in the offer!
Gray ordered anyway. Will give them a call in the morning see if the blue is a mistake.
Planning to transfer over my fatty bits for the time being and save up for a bluto and hope hubd wheelset, chinese carbon or (dt) swiss aluminium?
? There's two different Fatty Trails frames showing - are the cheaper ones different? - (didn't their first run need an extra wide bb/chainset to clear the stays? )
Is a bargain though. If I hadn't already bought a wazoo I'd buy one.
I don't think there is a difference, when the psa first poped up there were 2x X5 full builds at different prices but i guess one was a mistake as it dissapared quickly.
Speaking of standards, is there anything other than the FSA headset that fits?
I assume px have a big bill to pay, not surprising after their recent big expansion of brands/stock.
Some bargainous Challenge tyres on there as well...
I've been watching the Tomac Montezuma frame and fork with an rrp of £999 yoyo in price since before Christmas. It was down to £599 at Christmas, then settled at £699. Just before they release this code they put it up to £899 so with the code it's £584.
So really it's only £15 quid cheaper. It's not a liquidation sale, more a realistic price for px products.

I sort of agree. For non-PX own brand stuff, though, there are some bargains.
+1 CFS, and you roll the dice buying or waiting for another code and risking em selling out. If you race CX with tubs theyve got some top tyres at bargain prices, I bought some Challenge CX clinchers and they sold out before the codes.
Rrp on their own stuff are notional, like DFS or their hero Sports Direct.
That's a handy PSA. Just saved myself a few pounds on a couple of WTB tyres.
Happy days!
They've put the price on the trail fatty up so the discount brings it down to what it was before.
Maybe they meant to do that before the code went out?
Cancelled orders anyone?
anyone used the Challenge Fango Tubs?
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/TBCHFA33/challenge-fango-33-700c-tubular-cyclocross-tyre
£37 quid an end after the code, any good?
i like challenge tubs. i have used their limus mud tread happily for a number of seasons. i have not used a fango but understand the internet consensus is its 'alright' but not much different to a grifo.
To note: challenge used to have a bad quality control reputation. they are now much better. However, last time i bought a challenge tub from planet x, guess what? it was very very old stock and it had bad QC problems! id be buying from hargroves or wiggle who you know have new stock.
Just wish they had some of the fatty frames still for sale! 🙁
@ officer friendly
what size are you after
Thanks Eddie
Hi Lester, I'm after a small (:
sorry O F i cant help you there, have you tried the fat bike selling page on facebook?
fatty v2 seems to be in stock on the px site
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FROOFATV2/on-one-fatty-v2-frame
That Viner CX bike for £974 with Rival CX1 HRD seems pretty good value!
Can someone give a valid reason not to buy a fatty trail in this sale and chuck on some 4" jumbo jim or similar lighter tyres? Never ridden a fat bike, might be slow, sound fun...plus watching this video has made me hungry http://www.pinkbike.com/news/eddie-masters-gets-fat-video-2015.html
there is no valid reason not too 🙂
Thanks Jonjon, it's on there! Unfortately it doesn't seem to be in the liquidation sale, but at £150 it's already pretty darn cheap!
And no worries Lester, thanks anyway (: and I'm not "allowed" on the fat bike forums due to being under 18 (17)! The most annoying thing is I love fatbikes so much, I have 3 already!

1) Jumbo jims are a definite summer tyre going by the reviews. Floaters are a good all round tyre. Unless I had £150+ spare for some really good tyres the floaters are among the last bits I'd upgrade.
2) Depending on your existing box of spares you may still be able to build better/cheaper than the 35% off.
Just off the top of my head, using a trail frame, O-O wheels, floaters, x5 chianset, you could upgrade to the Bluto RCT3 and still come in <£800 as long as you have a drivechain, brakes and finishing kit going spare. That's what I'm planning because I'm fussy over saddles, have a reverb that fits, a drivechain and brakes going spare, and some nice-ish carbon bars, so the only bit I need is a stem, and I can't justify a whole new bike 1st payday after christmas!
Is tempting, think I should probably ride one first though. I nearly passed out reading the weight of the floaters! Jumbo Jim was just the first fat tyre I found in a quick google 🙂

JJ's are probably the lightest mid priced tyre before you get to 45nrth etc at £80+. They're not the fairest comparison.
There's at least 2 wildly different quoted weights for floaters (<1500g and >1800g). Simply because they're using almost 3x more rubber than a normal tyre (2" sidewalls + 2" tread + 2" sidewall, Vs 4+4+4) so 1500g tyres are going to be similar construction to 500-600g tyres.
Mine came around 1550g IIRC.
I'm still tempted though for summer, I don't think I've ever pinched mine (but I'm still running the painfully heavy O-O tube out back!) and tubeless deals with most punctures.
Got floaters and a set of Vee8's to wear out first though, only about 5000miles to go then........
Hovering over the buy button - does the trail version have to have a Bluto or will it handle ok with a rigid fork for a bit? Cant find a comparison of fork lengths
Wasn't going to spend any more cash on bike parts this month, but a pair of Challenge starda tubs for £52 was too good to pass on.
Ta for the PSA
Which fat wheels do people recommend?
Dt2250 can't find in stock anywhere..
Ordered a fatty (non trail) with carbon fork last night. £650 seems an absolute bargain! Still got to sell my FS 29er tho to fund it.
Could not resist the 35% off a mini Fatty for my Grandsons birthday in April

It's arrived!
Got to say that in the flesh the grey is a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be, the photos don't do it justice and I was mentally budgeting for a respray so if it wasn't good I'd say so!

Back of an envelope calc but the head angle should be the same on the fatty and trail with the same fork, it's just the trail is 'designed' to be 20mm taller and a degree slacker. I'm planning on building mine up with the fatty bits until my jobs a bit more secure and I've got the money for a bluto and new wheel.
Hmmm, bit late to this one but now slighty tempted by a parkwood frame...
Quick someone talk me out of it, tell me it'll be cheaper at some point...
They always seem to do something like this at least once a year. Last year it was the "staff discount" codes at Christmas (and the fatty was 20% off already) which made it pretty much the same price as it is today.
Depends if you can wait another year?
Could anyone advise of the headset spec for the fatty trail? The website spec looks a bit vague. Was going to wait and measure the frame but Yodel have taken over a week up to now!
That Mini Fatty is awesome. Creepy crawlers on a kids bike though, does that work? I have those on my Bird and it rolls like a brick, you can feel the drag just turning the bars never mind riding it.
