Can someone explain the different niches/ nitches of the VN frames? There's little in the way of explanation on the various pages to see why the Mamtor is different from the Zion, and both from the Tuareg...

IIRC, it goes like this...

Mamtor is a 120mm-140mm front end, so think about long-travel hardtail-ish.

Zion/Tuareg are old-style XC, 80-100mm forks. Tuareg is supposedly less harsh at the back on account of the weird seatstay bridge.

What fork?

It's good money for ti, but the geo looks old school

Even at that price they still manage to look over-priced.

I'm vaguely looking for a ti frame, prob a 29er so I'm all over any chance of a bargain. Saw the prices and thought I might be onto a winner but clicking on them they just looked cheap tbh and not much of a bargain.

Can't put my finger on why and I'm sure they're great frames, just not for me.

Buy one and get some Moots stickers for it.

Could always go for a Raijin. Now they're spot on

You've seen the downtube on a Raijin right?!

It looks like they built the frame, realised they didnt have the necessary fork clearance and decided to just smack it with a hammer.

Very tempted as an upgrade to my Unit 29er and the geometry looks similar. But it's Cyclescheme time at work and I've test ridden the Giant XTC Composite... Gears or no gears...

And I love Ti bikes, but the siren call of carbon is tempting me away.

Well-established Ti frame-building technique - it worked for the Ti 456... 😉
