Highlights of the Pioneer stage race from New Zealand about to start at 7:05. I can't vouch for the quality of the program but an hour of mountain biking on TV seems worth a shout.

Thanks for the heads up, currently watching Paw Patrol. Some distraction techniques may be necessary.

I should have known most of those who are up at this time on a Saturday may not have control of the remote!

I quite enjoyed that anyway, incredible scenery and as said above some inspiring stories. It has motivated me to get off the sofa and get the bike fixed to get out for a ride.

Stunning scenery! Thankfully my son loves anything Mtb related so I could ditch octonaughts and he was fine! The race made me king for those early morning starts to races and the camaraderie you get!

Did anyone see the chap running a Specialized Epic (I think) with rigid forks and a metal brace instead of a shock? Is that a swap people make for easier stages?

Would love to have a go at one of these races one day, if I ever get close to that level of fitness.

The Pioneer was a great event and I would certainly recommend it to people.
One of the tougher ones, but physically and not technically. The scenery was stunning.

Lots of climbing, super hot and dry and some days were rough which made it slow going.

The rigid epic... no one knew why he was doing it. Very odd.
