These are in sale at Wiggle for £64.99 (a great price anyway as the RRP is £120), but if you use the code GETTHERE it's £10 off a £50 spend.

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-micro-gps-watch-with-mapping/

Code is new customers only, but works if you sign up with an alternative email 😉

So a second PSA is the £10 off a £50 spend!

Dammit, I keep spending money when I shouldn’t be on stuff like this! Seems too good to be true vs Garmin at this price. Shame only blue left, but I am a boy so I’ll live with it (I’d have drawn the line at pink).

I've got the non watch version & it's great, menu's not as intuitive as Garmin.

But other than that it's excellent.

Is this "turn by turn" navigation usable offroad?

Don't forget to update the firmware and grab the Ally v2 app.

Do you need turn-by-turn offload?

Not wishing to hijack the thread, but they're selling Lezynes Macro Duo for £33.99.

very punchy wee light...I got called a "trucking hick" on a couple of occasions, last night.

handy to stash as a backup or if you have some road sections, post-trail.

Turned up last night, and first impressions are good.

A little bulky if you compare it a normal watch, not something I'd wear as an everyday watch, but it's impressive that they've got it so small.

Menus and features seem well laid out and it's pretty intuitive to use. It finds the satellites much quicker than my old Garmin, and on a quick test up and down the road worked well.

I upgraded the firmware, which took about 10 minutes, and downloaded the app to my phone. It synced with the phone very easily, and all the alerts, mapping on the phone, etc. seem like pretty neat features.

All in all, a bit of a bargain for £55 🙂

How does it compare to say a Garmin Edge 500 with the route guiding?

I am happy with the route guiding on Edge 500 ie bread crumb, but then if you go off route it is useless.

I cant find any pics showing the route guidance mode

I've had one for over a year now, stopped using my Garmin 510 Edge when i bought it.

As it was a new product at the time, there were a few teething issues with the software but that has now all been ironed out and i love mine.

I bought mine from Germany and the blue strap model wasn't available at the time.

So i bought a blue strap separate through my local bike shop who in turn went through their Lezyne dealer (Upgrade Bikes).

So  I now have a choice of blue or black strap when i fancy a change.

Rarely use the Garmin now.

is it waterproof? wiggle description is a little vague - extremely weather resistant.

do you need to have a signal on your phone for the watch to track the app?

I'd not go swimming with it! It's a rubber bung in the USB port, very similar to the ones on Garmins. So I guess it will keep out the elements, but won't work if submerged.

Connects via bluetooth to the phone, so I guess that you don't need a phone signal for it to work. Not sure if the mapping in the App is pre-installed or whether you need a signal for that to update as you go along. Will give a try.

Thanks, was mainly after whether the phone needed to update as you go along so that would be useful.

I think it has dedicated gps in th watch and you can download a file to it. So you don’t necessarily need phone signal / to be linked to the phone all the time. But I haven’t tried it out yet other than to map my route on way home from work last night and upload to Strava. That all worked fine once I’d updated the watch firmware to the latest version. Much easier than my Garmin forerunner 230 which I’ve replaced with the lezyne.

The watch also comes with a handlebar Mount thing so you don’t have the wear the watch all the time if you don’t want to either. Suspect it’ll be on my wrist for mountain biking but on the bars for road riding.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do you have to have your phone with you  at all times for this to work?or can you synch it with the phone when you get home? Can you just use it as a stand alone device for showing miles/average speed on it  as you are riding?

Yup, you can use it as a standalone GPS with all the standard options, i.e. speed, mileage, etc. It will link with ANT+ devices, and it will also do simple turn by turn route instructions as you can upload a route from a computer.

<span style="font-size: 0.8rem;">The phone sync is used to upload to Strava, do live segments, show text and call alerts, and if you want to see where you are on a map.</span>

So useful, but not required.

Mines arrived.

Its ok.  Not as well made as a Garmin or TomTom but does appear to have more functionality for the money.

It looks like using the app you can only create routes on road.

What PC software can you use to create off road routes in a FIT format?

I had a play around with mine last night.

There's a way to create routes from gpx files.

Thanks OP. Got myself one of these and am more than happy with it but I do have a question for townydc as he seems the expert 😃

I seem to be having various experiences with the auto uploading feature. As in sometimes it seems to work, others I seem to have to give it a shove and do it manually. Can you describe how you use this feature? As in when do you have phone Bluetooth on? Does it need phone signal as it transfers from the watch ( not available sometimes in the woods) etc etc.... Blaa blaa.

Go to  http://www.lezyne.com/gpsroot

Click the three line menu top right, choose "device features" then "routes" then "upload gpx/tcx"
