Looks like Airdrop have set up an outlet page with some pretty decent discounts on frames, forks, wheels and stuff.
Can someone lend (give) me £500 to bag a very cheap Lyrik? 🙂
Good PSA if you're x-large.
tmays there's some zeb ultimates for £500 at chainreactioncycles, they've also had cheap lyriks for a while, even under £500 when that 10% discount was available a few weeks back.
Tempted by that WTB wheelset.
I love the look of the Fade frameset but can’t justify loads of money on a jump bike just for using on the local pump track when I have a cheapie bmx that does the job
I thought the same. I keep looking at jump bikes and wondering whether or not I actually need one. Or whether I'd look even more of a dick at the track than I already do on my FS.
I love the look of the Filter but... I don't know what this means so guess it's not for me!!
The Filter is all about fun: boosting lips, pumping backsides and slashing turns.
Hang on, pumping backsides.....matron.
🤣🤣🤣

Do it! They're so fun to ride. I've got a DJ bike which is way too good for my abilities and I don't care because it's my most fun bike.
Also life is too short to...
A) worry about other people thinking you look like a dick.
B) ride pump tracks with full suspension.
Plus they've never changed in years so they never go out of fashion.

I have a Lyrik Ultimate for sale for a fair bit less then that.
Well I was about to go 511 front and 486 rear.
But the WTB complete wheels are as cheap as the DT rims, let alone the cost of building them up on my Trek hubs.
So, trigger pulled. I've been running a tube in the rear for a while now on my Bontrager Comp 30 after a bit of a bang a while back.
Wanted to sort that before my upcoming trip to Skye. So, thanks Airdrop!

Fs bike is crap on a pumptrack - even with a completely locked out rear shock.
My 140mm forked 650b hardtail is a lot better and I’m most comfortable jumping on little tracks on this bike.
The cruiser bmx is blindingly quick on pumptracks - the billy bonkers tyres are fast - and by having a rigid fork and shorter wheelbase / smaller wheels you really build speed quickly even on tight pump tracks. I always feel like I’m a slight twitch away from disaster on it though!
To be fair, I got some proper coaching on the FS which definitely helps.
But have no doubt that a hardtail/jump bike would be better.
