You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I think this may have been covered before but I didn't find a real fix for it.
My Huawei phone had a recent system update and Srava stopped recording afterwards. You started recording but when you checked I was getting straight lines to where I was and really weid speeds like 406mph.
I found this which, based on a brief test, has fixed the issue. I hope it helps someone else.

Yeah huawei have very "enthusiastic" app battery management, it can also play havoc with things like the couch to 5k app which need to run in the background.
Mine did the software update you mention halfway through a ride and straightlined me all the way home on Strava. 🙂
As you say, you just have to make sure that it prioritises Strava when the screen is locked.
I had this problem a few years ago and no matter what I did it would go to sleep half way through. I kept having to wake it every 30 minutes. We had a thread on it here but we couldn't fix it.
I ditched Huawei last year after they lost Google and moved to Samsung.
I hope that fixes it. What's your longest ride so far after the fix.?
So far only a 40 minute drive in the car but it recorded the whole thing where before it didn't even record 100 yards out my door on a ride.
Loads of KOM's on that drive.
Only kidding. Deleted the whole thing.
I had a p10 light for about 3 years and it took me maybe 2.5 to work out why it was doing that. Until then I had basically stopped using Strava. Assume the link says to hit the padlock in the "open apps" view
Mine didn't have a padlock. Setup looked pretty much the same as all the pages in the link. My P20 has all the Google apps and they all work .

My p30 lite (bought earlier this year) still has Google apps.
I hope that fixes it. What’s your longest ride so far after the fix.?
Did it to my previous phone, and went from turning itself off after 30 minutes to not missing a beat over full day rides.
Its a bug so the Chinese government dont know exactly where you are. They have to pretend they are not spying on you 🙂

Was about to say its to make sure Strava isnt taking all the bandwidth to use your phone as a collection of to create super computers to hack UK industry.
