Never done this before but I should think it would be of interest to many here with 26" commuter/hack bikes if it is 'real'

why do people keep ordering these when its been proven time and time again that halfords dont honour them and its either a glitch in the system or a footfall bait and switch traffic increaser......

Sometimes they do; I have had Crud road-racer Mk2 'guards from Halfords for £3 two years ago, and another set in April this year for £2.40. Some say that's all they're worth, though...

I've found that if you can find the stock in store they do honour them I got some bars, a seatpost and a bag from them for £1 each a year or 2 ago.

Not only will they honour the price in store, they will look it up to charge you the lower price. Just saved £5 on some grips in Staines.

Halfords have a very strong policy of stock, if they have got lots and it isn't selling, it goes. They need the floor space.
I had a Calor gas 2 ring cooker with grill rrp £59.99 for £2 at the end of last years camping season.

@OP; thanks - having a punt as it's useful for spares if nothing else. Halfords have a week to disappoint me.

You have to understand how the life cycle of products works in a shop. These ridiculous bargains often come about when a range of products is discontinued from being sold in a shop. It might be that the shop decided to go with new packaging or a different brand for a certain range of stuff. Generally items get reduced bit by bit until they are all sold off. However if they are a bit slow to sell head office make just reduce them down to a daft amount to clear them - it may be that they have already received credit for them from the suppliers or something.
Those sort of reductions can have some surprising results as we have seen from these Halfords PSA's. HOWEVER they are dependant on what stock the stores have left. Because they are discontinued and they are just trying to clear the last few there might be only a handful left in the stores. And when you are down to 1 or two in stock on your systems this is when you find all the stock errors. This can be from booking in errors, sales errors or just plain and simple theft from the shop floor (more often than not unfortunately).
I know this is the situation Halfords have here, and in a perfect world the stock levels would be perfect but that's impossible in reality even with the best controls. So I take a punt on reserving it in store and seeing if I get the bargain. More often than not I do, I've maybe had about 25 of these I've tried to reserve and I've gotten about 15 of them. I don't get mad at Halfords as I know stock errors happen, but it's worth the effort to keep looking and trying.

So far I've got:
Nice resin MTB pedals £1
Deore 9sp rapid fire full set £10
3x ABUS £45 u locks for £5 each
5x Knog locks from £10-£25 RRP £1 each
Panniers £3
Topeak Seat pack £2
Seat post 50p
3x Camping Gaz really nice portable stoves £45 RRP £5 each

And a few other bits and bobs!

Just ordered from Reading Oxford road, tex to say they are gettin order ready. If it is completed its a bonus if not no big deal.

I must be lucky as I have had most of these things honoured.

This was one I posted a while back

I'm having trouble trying to buy these, I'm guessing that they've sold out?

You can't select silver anymore which are the ones which were 90p. That usually means sold out.

Placed an order for the mudguards last night all, received confirmation and it all seemed to go through but received this just now:

It is with regret that we are unable to fulfill your order request.

The SKS Bluemels MTB Trekking Mudguard is currently out of stock with our supplier and we’re sorry that we do not have a confirmed date for the further replenishment of this line either.

We apologise that on this occasion Halfords will be required to cancel your online order request. This item will shortly be made unavailable on our website.

Please do accept our apologies for any disappointment experienced on this occasion.

Kind regards

Robdob is right.

Best buy was when I arrived for my weekend at Brechfa to find I'd forgotten pedals. Halfords Carmarthen clipless pedals £5! They had some nicer ones for £15 but I cheaped out.
