Please see a statement from the Forestry Commission regarding the Verderers trail:
:From Monday 9th March 2015 the Verderers' Trail will be closed untilFriday 27th March for major repairs on the final sections.Unfortunately there are no diversions possible that are within the blue trail grading. Also Please be Aware throughout March, Haulage vehicles will be using the forest roads whichcross the downhill trails. Please slow down and take extra care atthese crossing points.

Update from the cycle centre..
The Verderers trail final descent will be closed from Monday for 2 weeks for resurfacing work. It will be reopen for the start of the Easter holidays! While it is closed there be a diversion in place.
This diversion either takes you down the red freeminers descent (or other line of your choice) or there will be a blue route back down the fire road. Please note that if you ride down the red or higher graded trails you need to have the bike skills to tackle this section....You have been warned : )
