I now have two pairs of 44.7 Freerider EPS after Evans failed to cancel the massively delayed (1 month exactly) 1st order.

Great.

Questioning whether it's really all worth it.

Chased my order. They were basically like "Errr our IT doesn't work. Do you want to cancel?!?"

I said no, give me my shoes. TBC.

Where are you based @branes? I've ordered a pair of those and if they are any good, a second pair may be handy - I don't ride flats so these are going to be worn in the office or trailbuilding/coaching...if we are close enough it might be worth a chat, but you'd need to be in Central Scotland (very central)...

I ordered some trailcross pro clip in that arrived next day. They were too big so ordered a size down. They also arrived next day and are still too big.

I've also now realised that the returns label in the box is just an address label.

Returns aren't free so it's cost me a tenner to try on 2 pairs of shoes! Definitely should have checked before ordering.

Still, at least I checked and corrected my delivery address before ordering so it would have been worse I guess.

Finally had an email saying Part of your order has been processed, along with one from Evri saying they're expecting my parcel, so it's taken them a week to dispatch the second pair that I ordered.

I received the pair of Trail Cross Mid's last week, and they are brilliant for trailbuilding. The collar stops rubbish from getting in, they seem to have noticeably more grip for walking, while still providing good pedal grip and feel, although they're even less waterproof than more normal Five Ten's, as they have mesh sections.
However I did order a size up so I can wear some thick merino socks with them.

Ordered some Freerider eps on Sunday night and they arrived Wednesday pm. As others have said they are quite slim fitting but I’m hoping they will stretch a bit with wear. Tried them with the insoles out and they are perfect.
Anyway great psa!

Finally ordered some Kestrel Boa's in a size 10 (I'm normally more of a 9.5, but the advice further up seems to be size up a bit).

They'll be my summer MTB footwear, assuming they fit.

Cheers for the PSA OP.

I ordered mine on the 27th, they arrived on the 31st.

Exactly as described and no issues, I did notice that there was a sports direct style "NOW £65. RRP £130" sticker on the box, makes me wonder if it's just a case of clearing shop floor stock and being lucky?

Uh-Oh! have I made a poor decision then? I suppose there's more chance of them having mine in stock as the Kestrel will be one of the less popular products.

Is there better luck ordering for in-store pickup?
I do have a local Evans in town that I just can't be arsed going to, and they still want charge the same for that as having it delivered to the door so I just opted for regular delivery...

This Discount offer does seem to have lasted quite a while, normally the stock vanishes within a couple of days and the offer is done within a week. How badly overstocked can you be with Five-Tens?

Got an email saying the order would be delivered on Sunday (tomorrow) and Evri delivered them on Thursday...I think ordered on Tuesday.

Seem to fit well so I'll find out if they are ok as all day footwear soon enough - I don't ride flats but these seemed a bargain so I'm hoping they'll be comfy enough for the office, coaching (in a park) and trailbuilding or evenings out foot wear.

I just sent back my Trailcross pro clip ins. Size 10.5
I'm a 10.5 merrell wearer, unless it's one of the ones with no liner in which case I can get away with a 10.
They were too narrow for me. Not excessively so, but some distinct tucking together of my toes. Normally I find it's the ball that's the problem but not this time.
Length felt ok.

Larger than expected. I'm an 8 or a 9 in most things. I have some Impact Pros which are 9.5.

Ordered a size 9 which were too big (too long, width felt ok), ordered an 8.5 which were also too long. Not sure whether to try an 8 or give up altogether. I've got a feeling am 8 will be a bit narrow.

I'm a 44 in Adidas trainer (which UK 9.5, I think), I'm a 44 in Shimano shoes and Salomon shoes, but I'm a size 10 in Nike trainers and dress shoes.

I ordered the Freerider EPS in 44 and they feel good. Aware 5Ten is Adidas so I'm assuming the size matches Adidas trainers.

More sizing guesswork! My Freerider Pro are size 9 and a good fit, on the slim side but fine with normal socks. My old Freerider ELC (pre Adidas) are also a size 9 and fit similarly. My Adidas era Freeriders are a 9.5 - I bought some in a 9 because I’d always had them in a 9 before but they were too small. 9.5 fits better but they’re quite wide, I prefer the fit of the Pros.

So which size should I get in the Freerider EPS? I can’t see myself using really chunky socks in them, up to mid-weight hiking socks at the most.

I got 2 Pairs of sleuths delivered this week. All good. The leather ones perfect for mooching about this time of year. The ‘sand’ colored canvas ones definitely have a pink hue to them. Nothing to say there were women’s when ordering!

Ordered a few bits in a single order and half of it has now turned up.
Still missing a couple of items...one of which was on back order so I expected a delay.

Has anyone else had a single order turn up in multiple consignments?

Order is saying 'ready for shipping' on the website (rather than shipped/dispatched)

Anyway trail cross pro clip in - I'm normally a 10 but narrow feet. Ordered 10.5 and they're spot on.
Also bought a 5:10 flooce jacket, not used on the bike yet but first impressions on quality/materials/fit is very good. Hopefully I'll get the chance to try it out on the bike this week.

Lots of Five Tens at 50% off in the Wigan branch.

So which size should I get in the Freerider EPS?

I'm 0.5 bigger in Freerider Pros (10.5) than EPS (10), if that helps.

“ I’m 0.5 bigger in Freerider Pros (10.5) than EPS (10), if that helps.”

That would have left me even more confused but I’ve already ordered two pairs in 9 and 9.5 and I’ll send one back! (I’m hoping I didn’t need an 8.5 as my Pros are a 9 and my normal Freeriders are a 9.5!) I guess this is what happens when so much shoe production is a race to the bottom in terms of costs… (I’ve also ordered some crazy cheap Sleuth DLX in a 9.5).

Thanks anyway!

Haha, well do report back about how they fit.

I got an acknowledgement of my order but no further comms
Online it said awaiting dispatch, but I did the chat & said it was ready to collect
So just went to Evans by my work and they were there!

Theyre for the kids so hopefully will fit (I too have found sizing to be all over the place)

Hmm, might try and order again but get the delivered into store at Castleford....

Actually, a PSA within a PSA, the Adidas store at junction 32 shopping centre Glasshoughton/Castleford had several pairs of womens Hellcats in for £25! I tried a pair of size 9's but the extar velcro strap wouldn't do up over y fat feet!, Maybe womens are narrower than mens ones...

Mine were waiting when I got home!

Fit seems OK, sizing up half a size was definitely the right choice.

Question: is the rubber on the bottom of SPD flavoured Five-Tens different? It seems stiffer/less tacky than I remember their older (pre Adidas TBF) flat pedal shoes being.

I went crank bros from 5 10 because the "stealth" sole on the SPD shoe was pretty plasticky not rubbery.
I've tried one of these pairs as wet spares

I think you need to look at their EU sizings.
I got the kestrels primarily for summer use, I've got a pair of EU44 sized MW5 boots for winter, I can imagine if I was trying to cram thick socks into the (apparently sized EU44.7) Five Tens they'd be a bit snug around the broadest part of my foot.

The length is fine, the width of the sole seems about right, but they've clearly tried to keep the toe box strangely low profile and in doing so made the upper a little snug, if I had ordered the UK9.5/EU44.5 which I was originally going to, they'd be going back.

As an aside I do like the Boa, I've not had good luck with lace up SPD shoes in the past so it was worth the extra few quid, and it's for the little back click so you can slacken it a touch if your food expands on a hot day, my only reservation is it's positioning, I reckon I'll be lucky not to bust one, they're the most sticky-out feature of the shoes...

Ordered some kestrels for clips and freeriders for flats, and some new freeriders for my girlfriend when her current ones knacker out on Saturday. Got processed all together tonight, hopefully they'll all come together in a few days...

Daughter found the Kestrel Boa to be better all round and a bit drier than the Kestrel lace and Hellcats but they aren't waterproof. She's used them most days over the last 6 months in NZ and its been wet. She has to ride flats for work now as its becoming dryer for trail building

I am a 9 by measuring but in all cycling shoes I have to size up either a half or a full size depending on brand. I have a pair of Kestel Clips and they are 9.5 and fit fine. I also ordered a pair of Freerider flats from this offer that arrived a nour ago. I also went for 9.5 and they fit really well.

Back when wearing Shimano or Mavic was the common option I needed to buy a 10

I bought some of the EPS in size 10.5, I'm normally a size 10 but even the 10.5s were pretty snug (on one foot strangely) but I've worn them out and about for a week and they now feel fine.

I had sleuth ones in the past that are way too tight.

I'd advise people to definitely size up on these. Even a full size up is likely fine.

I feel a bit robbed… placed an order for an adult and child pair of 5.10s to combine postage and they cancelled the kids pair but continued the order with the adult pair.

next day the kids shoe back in stock to rebought them and now it’s all processed so ended up paying 2x postage.

So the new Freerider EPS in a 9.5 seems to fit well - the 9 was quite narrow on the forefoot and on the short side. The 9.5 is very similar in length to the normal Freerider in a 9.5 but less wide (in a good way). I think my Freerider Pro in a 9 is a similar but slightly snugger fit (I don’t tend to wear as thick socks in those because they’re my less wintery shoes).

They’re quite boring looking in black but so much less stupid looking that my “styled by technicolour vomit” Freerider ELC which will be replaced by the EPS.

I also got some Sleuth DLX in a 9.5 but they feel quite a bit too long, although the width isn’t massive. £33 bargain so I’ll try them again tomorrow in case I’m missing a trick sending them back!

FWIW I'm a 47 in anything Shimano. I got both some Kestrel pro boas and some freeriders in 10.5 (45 1/3) and 11.5 (46 2/3). The 11.5s both fit perfectly.

Annoyingly the boxes for both the 10.5 came quite tatty, hope Evans don't get funny when the returns department process them...

I wonder if they've ended up overstocked due to some sort of deal Sports Direct pulled with Adidas(?), shoes are just shoes to the parent company.

In the Brighton branch they had tons of boxes of Five Tens that they said they were sending back to the warehouse because they’re really overstocked for how many they’re selling in the stores - but also that they were getting loads of people collecting online Five Ten orders from the shop. He understood why when I showed him how much lower the online prices were!

Last pair I ordered look like they're not turning up again. Have emailed them to find out. Don't think I can be arsed trying again though. Pretty gutted as I actually need another pair after letting my son use my Trailcross until he grows out of them. He seems to be hanging around at size 9 longer than I thought he would though....

I’ve just been in the Edinburgh store - lots of stock but the Trailcross clip ins I was after are £15 more in store than online - not sure what the business model is here - I could have paid £55 and walked out with them there and then but as it is I walked out empty handed (they’re £70 in store) - fingers crossed they’re still in stock online!

Hopefully the final pair arrive too. I’ll try another colour if they don’t, maybe ones without boobs on this time 🤔

The Leatt Flat 2.0 shoes I just got from CRC feel like great quality, and they're not narrow ballerina shoes like Five Tens.
