My orders, two were cancelled, the third was dispatched yesterday.

A little slow compared to other online retailers I thought especially considering I only ordered one item, I normally use Merlin but they have a more limited range.

Well I just ordered over the phone using the voucher that they emailed to me.

The guy taking my order was polite, very efficient and within 2 minutes of putting the phone down I had confirmation of my order emailed through. Not bothered about delivery time particularly, it's all stuff for a bike I'm rebuilding so it's not like I need it instantly.

Happy customer here. 🙂

Courier deliveries are a nightmare for us poor souls living out in the middle of nowhere. You nip out into the back yard for a moment to worm a couple of sheep and come back to find a card through the letterbox and your package on the way back to the distant 'local' depot.

'Summoning Parcelforce' : n. The act of going for a Gypsy's Kiss, Tom Tit, Sherman Tank, or any other activity that leaves you incapable of getting to your front door, in the three nanoseconds it takes for a Royal Mail Delivery Operative to tickle said door with a hummingbird feather, and ram a card through the letterbox saying 'Sorry we missed you'
😉

If you want it straight away, "SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOP". If you order online, expect to wait. It's simple, really. This thread should have died a week ago. 🙄

Still had no dispatch email here, so phoned today to find out if it had been dispatched yet, apparently it was dispatched on the 5th (saturday). So hopefully it'll be delivered tomorrow. Which will be the 5th working day i believe as ordered on the 1st.

Does seem like it's been quite a bit longer than that though.

My 'local shop' doesn't stock much of anything, just the stuff that sells daily tubes, cheap bikes, tyres etc.

If you want something not in it also takes WEEKS.

Support whoever you want. Its a shop not a ****ing Yurt full of Hippies blessing you.

Recieved 2nd order yesterday, 1st order due for delivery today...

Quidco cashback tracked at the wrong amount on both orders and has now been declined... Probably too much to ask for when the items are discounted and I used the code on top.

Huh! we've got a toilet in our porch and a glass front door so, leaving the bog door open, I can monitor any Parcelforce movements whilst getting a Gypsy's Kiss or Tom Tit out of the way. However, I'd probably consider using the upstairs toilet if a discreet Sherman were in order 😉

DPD are dropping my tyre off this afternoon, sometime between '16:52 and 17:52' I like the exactness of the delivery window. Dunno if they've accounted for getting stuck behind any livestock movements or slow tractors in the lanes 🙂

Some nice Hope blingness arrived by DPD - thanks Evans, that's my lunchtime break from the PC sorted.

I agree that there is no real need to moan about getting a bargain but I think that there is an intrinsic link between experience and expectations - so when we all get next day deliveries from Wiggle/CRC/Merlin that's what we expect as the norm. It's very hard not to be disappointed when that doesn't happen.

If it wasn't for the commentary on this thread I think I'd have been fidgity wondering what Evans were playing at. It's not that we always need or even expect next day/2 day delivery it's just that we anticipate that will happen. Having this as a competitive force, so mail order companies and their delivery partners get better can't be a bad thing.Shirley.

Yep, you get used to it. Then when I buy from some other website I'm just like "I have to PAY for postage? What??" and then if it doesn't arrive by the next day I get annoyed. Spoilt really.

Got everything. Only really needed one of the items, so it was all an elaborate trick by Evans to get us to spend money we otherwise would have kept in our bank accounts. (probably).

Not quite as good, but did anyone get the £10 off £30 spend today?
There's a £5 off £20 spend on the homepage.

My two orders arrived today, both Royal Mail. Orders were processed and then hung, no dispatch or cancellation mails. Very happy though even at the time I realised it was a bit cheeky. Anyway thanks Evans 🙂

I am still waiting for an order dispatched on Saturday and ordered on the first. Not that big a deal but not confidence inspiring either and unlikely to get me to use them again tbh given what others seem capable of delivering - 3 days to process and the same to deliver and counting

I was going to buy my fullprice items in store as I needed them. Evans (3 stores) all out of stock but all sizes in stock at their warehouse. So as I was going to hit order from an online source when I saw the PSA on someones facebook. So I placed the order (full priced item but this Jan20 code with evans) So far I've had two wet-arsed rides and maybe another before the pants show up. I saved £20. TBH would I do it again? No, its abit of a pita. sometimes the savings -v- hassle curve means its not worth it. I was also one of those who didn't take the piss and place multiple orders to keep getting £20 off.

Pants go underneath....unless you are a)Superman or b)American.
Unless they really are waterproof undercrackers....in which case you may have a point (or just incontinence).

Not really sure what i said that deserved such high levels of vitroil tbh

Well you know the answer is no and that everyone bought due to the discount not just me so what is your point - the service should be poor compared to the others?. I assume you also know that Evans are some way from competitive on price in general with the others.
I have used them due to the offer and it has meant I will be unlikely to use them again as it was not a great service [ nor has it been awful either] - yes it was cheap but if they are cheaper in the future , which is unlikely, i will remember this and act accordingly. I am not sure why this angers you.

Thank god for online retailers, otherwise some poor sod in an lbs would have to deal face to face with some of you numpties

They live for you appearing and sweetalking them like this iirc 🙄

I placed an order for a cassette and chain and picked it up from my local store a few minutes walk from the office yesterday. Perfect really. I wasn't in a massive rush for it, or I'd have asked the LBS if they had it in stock. It was a bargain as items were already in the sale, so massive thanks to the OP.

Evans default price might not be competitive, but they do price match a very large range of stores - normally as simple as just showing them on your phone whilst at the till.

http://www.evanscycles.com/help/price-match - includes what I regard as the Usual Suspects.

I can't say I use them all the time, but if I have a free lunch time I'll often wander down and see if they have it in stock before I attempt to mail order. Always been very friendly in my local Evans, They were even happy to give out advice that meant I wouldn't spend money with them once! No grumbles with them here, and I'll continue to use them where it's convenient to do so.

You dont think I haven't? The order was posted unrecorded/RM. Why not pick earlier and negotiate a tracked deal with a carrier?

Two times a day. On a relevent thread by chance? Whats your point caller/spit it out.

Mine both arrived now. Two orders of £45ish reduced to £25 each. Chain, tubes, bar tape and a fancy dan Shimano roadie/cx Ultegra disc brake. Shame they only had one of those in stock though. Cheers to the OP and Evans.

XT Front mech arrived today. I moaned a couple of pages back about them not informing me it was originally out of stock. Well apparently it had pointed out a delivery delay when I put the mech in my shopping basket, but I hadn't noticed 😳 Evans had the good grace to upgrade my delivery to ensure I got the mech in time for the weekend after it arrived with them from the supplier.

So to counteract Hora's constant whining about Evans, they get a big thumbs up from me.

yes got my stuff
What I ordered - seatpost packaging is clearly a number of years old and tatty enough to annoy some folk I would imagine[ think it was £4 so can hardly grumble as the post is clearly new and unused

OK service - not exceptional not poor
superb price

Got my bibs yesterday, 11 working days to Aus from dispatch date. Shame it took 4 working days plus a weekend from order to dispatch.

Ordered from wiggle on Sunday, dispatched Monday, and I didn't pay for the priority handling, just normal RM.
