My two pairs arrived. S/M fits 13yo mini me with slim legs very well. My thighs measured up at the bottom end of the range for M/L (52cm) but on they're quite tight. I'll keep them and see if they loosen up, current pair of trail skins are too loose. The pad is "reassuringly solid", if it's uncomfortable in use will swap out the pads for some d3o ones. What brand are people using here? The Richa ones at ~£14?

That's the ones I pictured, seem identical in shape to the ones in the MT500 pads.
Sorry to disappoint .i meant these, I do not have 3 knees
I've just had an opportunity to try the pair I purchased this summer from crc.
Great! No digging in at the shins, comfy to pedal in, and dont feel at all overly-warm.
My trick is to wear them over my race face charge 'knee pads'...more of a knee-warmer with a grippy outer panel.
The 'charges' keep the pad in position without having to cinch up the mt500's Velcro strap too tight.
The endura s pad is quite thick, but conforms to the curve of my knee, so I won't be worrying about a lack of side protection.
My only concern (from reading the Koroyd pamphlet) is that "the protector should be replaced immediately after impact", but you do get five years of use out of them, assuming that you don't crash!
So, no complaints and I've got a better idea of what size to go for, should I venture into their 'lites' or 'hard shell' models.
I got a S/M and a M/L to test sizing - the S/M are too small if anyone wants them. Strange feeling pads when standing, not ridden in them yet.
got mine.
for the price they are excellent. Not used in anger yet. However i see peoples comments with the front edge of the pads. Ive had this on other pads before appart from my poc ones. You can tuck the lower material under the edge to prevent chaffage.
the bag says they are 80g. they are 380g my poc pads are 350g. still lightweight though.
the lack of side protection is a conern.
My main concern is that its basically a sacrificial protector which i cant see as being any good for knee pads that you do stuff like kneel down in.
The best thng is you can remove the protector (you cant do this on my other pads) so i can wsh them easier. The poc ones have gone a bit stiff after a few washes.
I got the S/M and they fit perfectly... does DrP have chicken legs??!!
Ho hum!
DrP
Ordered a set of the Richa D3o pads for £13, and they fit perfectly.
Absolutely cures the shin rub problem, as the D3o pads are soft and malleable.
Basically turns then into the new version for approx £30 all in 👍

Where from
Sounds good, where did you get them from?
Have a looke ere https://www.xlmoto.co.uk/richa-d3o-knee-guards?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIre-b_Y755AIV2fZRCh2zgw1HEAQYASABEgJoc_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds seem to have a 10% discount code too.
Xlmoto.co.uk £13.99 + postage, and found a discount code online that took about 10% off.
So actually more like £15. Still a decent deal though.
Grand, thank you!
Very interesting.
Might give that a go but haven't actually tried the standard pads yet, due to the monsoons we've had.
I've got the S/M and they're too small, so will be going back - and to add (literally!) insult to injury, had an off at the weekend and buggered up a shin, just where the protection would have been....
Got mine, what a terrible product even at £17 lol. Will go on ebay.
Really? What’s so terrible about them? I think they are well thought out and fit me well? For £17 I think it’s great value I am keeping them for trail riding which means my best ones will get more life for racing etc

Jeez, 'lol'? Are you 13? Better sell them quick so you can give your mum back her money.
They're ok. Not as comfy as my d30 race face but more secure.
At 17 quid I'm happy. Though I suspect they'll fill up with us pretty quickly

Live with it or ignore my posts lol. You're very susceptible.
Who has S/M for sale?
they are well thought out
Knee pad with no side protection at all ?
Waste of time.
I do...pm me
Rode mine last night. Fit well and comfy. I reckon they offer similar protection to my ageing (and expensive) IXS Flow, and way more comfortable than my previous Endura MT500s.
Cheers for the PSA OP!
Tried mine today for a couple of hours, they were quite comfy in use and I may not even need to trim the pads.
I even managed a crash where I landed on a knee (among other bits of myself). They stayed in place and probably helped.
I still have a set of m/l to pass on for £21 posted if anyone wants them, pm me and I’ll give you my PayPal.
Had my M/L for a week or so now, they're an OK lighter pad. Certainly a better fit than my old 661 Evo that were well overdue for replacement...
They're a Similar sort of fit to the old pair of endura knee warmers I've had for several years now, and the one endura jacket I have owned was a 'close fitting' Medium which makes me think their sizing is perhaps based a little more based on a "slender racing snake" model than a the more typical "pie and a pint" bicycling enthusiasts of the modern era...
So long as you bare that in mind when buying their kit it's fine...
As for the 'profiteering'?
Crack I say, no fit no foul in my book.
First proper ride onh them today (25 miles, 3000ish ft of ascent/descent).
I did swap the inserts for the D30 ones, so this is based on that.
Very comfy, comfier than my old Dainese trail skins, and a much better overall form and fit. The Dainese pads always seemed to stick out a bit at the sides when knees were bent.
No slippage at all, which is ace. I've got very narrow calves, so pads have always slipped on me.
Didn't have any big offs, but I did slip on a wet root, and ended up putting my knee down quite heavily. Ground was flinty, and the pad did it's job.
No marks on the pad, the mesh seems to be pretty tough plastic, and the fabric on the front is quite heavyweight and stretchy (maybe with Kevlar? It feels like it might be anyway).
Knees felt relatively cool and ventilated, defo not as hot as the Trail Skins, but Warner than my thin Polaris knee warmers.
They come a decent way up the thigh, so no gap, and paired with a medium length Sealskin sock my legs were fully covered. They'll be good on colder days instead of tights!
Safe to say I'm very happy with these. The pads cup the knees a fair way round, so actually the lack of side protection is less of an issue than it could have been IMO.
Gave mine there first outing yesterday, now truth be told ive never been a knee pad wearer, Ardrock,Lakes and Morzine they came with but ive never bothered with them. These however saw me do the Borrowdale Bash with the full Honister climb yesterday, almost forgot I was wearing them. Very happy and lucky to grab a bargain
First ride out with mine today, found them comfortable when sat on the bike, abit 'odd' when stood up though. Nice and light, a tad on the tight size I got some M/L and don't consider myself to have massive legs..cant complain for less than £20 though
Really happy with these, can barely tell I’m wearing them. Thanks for the psa
Another ride today, still comfy enough and they stayed in place when soaked - which is an important test.
I bought the M/L and they are bordering on being a smidge too tight. As it is, they are just ok. I haven’t got thunder thighs (just 14 years of riding thighs), so if you are muscular of leg you might want to size up.
These are an odd pad. Pretty uncomfortable when standing in them, but totally forgotten when riding. I previously had a very old pair of 661 Tomcats that had been sewn up several times after crashes. They were comfortable to stand around in, but used to slip unless they were done up uncomfortably tight. These ones are the polar opposite.
Quality seems good, I sweat a lot, so have to wash them after every ride and there don’t seem to be any stray threads.
Can heartily recommend them, so long as you use them more for bike riding and not standing around(!)
So, a few months in and they are pretty good, with a couple of niggles.
I am having to wash them after every ride, so much cack around at the moment and I sweat like a good’un. The little green plastic ‘cellular’ stuff is starting to degrade and I keep finding bits in the washing machine. I have ordered some d3o inserts, so hope that fixes the problem.
I have had to re-sew one seam, I don’t actually mind sewing my gear up to repair it, makes me feel thrifty.
Over tights I find that the gripper tape slips, so I am also using Velcro straps around them, below the pad, to keep them from slipping too far down.
They still go unnoticed most of the time, which is a good thing. They’ve turned into £30 pads now, so not as good value as before but still good.
I wouldn’t want to have paid more than £40 for them, though.

Wearing pads over clothes is never a winner.
Also, are they meant to be machine washable?
The pad inserts are removable, you are meant to take them out before washing them!!

Red face here!
I just got used to the old 661s and chucking them in the wash, this never even crossed my (tiny) mind.
Mine have become a lot more comfy.
I've washed once, after removing the insert. 😉

I can't believe I actually didn't think to remove the pad.
I am seriously considering making myself a big pointy hat with D for dunce on it.
The problem with cycling clothes brands with names ending in '-ura' is that the size guides or the size printed on the label have no relation to the size of the actual gear that you are buying.

I would agree to a point. It's not the size, more the shape. I seem to be an endura shaped person so have pretty much gone full kit wnkr when out on the mtb.
The knee pads have been good.to me with d3o inserts, i still have my knee despite knocked off my bike a few months back and landing heavily on the pad
I bought a pair on a whim after seeing this post. I was a bit perturbed by a few posts saying the sizing was bad as was the fit. When I received them and tried them on they did seem a bit tight and the "cup" cut into my shin when standing up. Since using them the "cup" has softened up and the fact that you dont really spend much time with your leg straight whilst riding has meant that issue is null and void to me. The fit being too tight hasn't been an issue really either, I found myself tightening them up on my last ride as they were sliding down a bit.
All in all a good buy for £17.
Probably the poorest piece of Endura kit I've ever bought. A very poor fit. Slipped so badly on rides I've ditched them. Maybe not so much an issue with shorts but when wearing trousers in the winter a complete PITA.

On the other (opposite) hand, they're the best fitting lightweight pads I've used. Comfy all day, and no twisting or slipping at all.
Used them under riding trousers for a 20+ mile xc ride last weekend with no problems at all.
I absolutely love mine.best bargain I bought in ages .
Those people who don't wash them after every ride =yuk
Those who wash them without taking the insert out first.thats just hilarious.as in funny not sarcastic.
Same for me, I quite like them.
I've just dug mine out of the kit store. Tried them for size when I bought them and they were a bit tight so I was meaning to send them back. I've still got a few days to do that, but I'm trying to decide if spending £20 on the Richa D30 inserts is worthwile?
Mine have got more comfortable with use, they were awful at first.
The mesh backs are all ripped up too.

Do you wake up some days and find you'r two sizes smaller than when you went to bed?
I got the D30 inserts. They are good, just need trimming down a little bit.
The pads are a bit tight, but bearable.
I've had to get a needle and thread out once so far.
They are not perfect, but for £30 (new inserts) mustn't grumble...
