That's 81% off apparently - Easton EC70 AX Di2 Drop Handlebar

I bought one and it looks like the real deal.

Oof! I bought one of those for my Topstone earlier this year. Ideal for me - but then I did pay £158 for it!

Rashest purchase I've ever made, but now not sure what bike I'll put them on. The gravel bike already has Lauf Smoothies, and I don't want flared bars on the road bike... Maybe the 'winter' gravel bike then

Another “what the heck, I’m in” here. Now if I’m rewrapping bars I suppose I need some orange tape too.

Nice, so cheap. Not sure what I'll put it on (gravel or CX) but stupid not to get at that price.

They can sit on the shelf next to those cheap Ribble aero bars I splashed out on a few months ago...

Oooh, thanks. I'd been mulling over a set of them for some time but never could justify the cost.

Seem to have gone through checkout, but got a big "There was a problem placing your order" red banner after payment.

Confirmation email and order shows in my account though. Is this a known problem with Wiggle at the moment?

Got the EA70 alloy version of the same bar on my Gravel Bike currently and probably my favourite shape drop bar to be fair… Just enough flare without being silly.

Do I “need” carbon on a bike that arguably gets me to the pub and back occasionally though…?

Is this lacking a channel for the gear cables? What does it being a di2 bar mean?

It's Di2 compatible I believe. The one I received has cable channels.

I think it means that they support Di2 usage rather than Di2 only (i.e. there is somewhere for the junction box). The Easton site only lists one version. The pics appear to show channels.

I have a set (which cost considerably more....), has cable channels, and a couple of little holes for internally routing Di2 cables, just ignore the holes if not Di2ing

might stick them on my turbo bike to teake out the buzz of the garage floor... 😉

(nah, I fancy slightly wider bars on the turbo!)

I spend my pocket money for the next year and a half on one of their cheap Nukeproofs, but I'd still have bought these if they weren't flared. My road bike has been asking me for carbon bars.

They have a pretty minimal flare. FWIW they are exactly the same dimensions and flare as the alloy bars they replaced on my Topstone, and those are now fitted to my Amazon tourer. If I could be arsed retaping I'd have bought another set.

😂

Fair point, wife's engagement ring was probably the rashest purchase ever, an example I will probably need to remind her of when she sees a new set of carbon handlebars getting delivered 😎

I followed the link for the handlebars, had them in my basket but then decided to spend £27 on 5 DHB jerseys instead!

Didnt really need the carbon bars but my current summer commuting jerseys are 7+ years old and need replacing!!!

46cm EC70s have now appeared for £48.99. Still an incredible bargain.

Exactly. I had a tax refund earlier this year, so bought a very nice silver pen. She went mad, ‘why are you spending £300 on a pen’ etc. I pointed to her ring. She then started again ‘but I wear that every day’. You cant win.

Mine too. Exactly the shape I was after, just in a much lighter material than I was expecting to be able to buy.

Mine was due, but then Evri updated status to “problem”, “we’ll try again from tomorrow onwards “. I’ve got my new bright orange Easton tape ready too.

If anybody bought some 44's and doesn't actually need or want them, let me know... I dilly dallied and missed these! D'oh!

I have the alloy version on my Gravel Bike currently and love them, the carbon version would of course be a bonus... Happy to swap my alloy bars and give the cash for the carbon ones too if that suited (you get some free, barely used alloy bars!)...

You might be in luck, I don't think I'm going to be able to use them and don't need them knocking about the garage getting scuffed! Will PM you 👍

Claimed weight on CRC was 290g, but mine (44cm) weighed at 222g on the kitchen scales. The alloy OEM unflared 42cm bars were 300g.

Shows some decent QC on Easton's part at least, mine weighed 222g as well 😂

A set of 'posh' aluminium Ritcheys weighs about 270g in a 44cm so 300g for your OEM bars isn't bad I guess.

If anyone managed to get some 46cm ones and have had a change in heart I'll happily take them off of you with postage. Thanks

For those that missed out, Wiggle still have some crazy deals on 3T handlebars, albeit a little more pricey (I did put a PSA about these up too but it didn't seem to generate as much interest).

@PJay I picked up a set of the 3T bars which came in at 220g in 44cm off the back of your PSA.  Haven't got around to fitting them yet as it means having to bleed the brakes which is a faff too far for me right about now.  In terms of feel and build quality though they are rather lovely!

I bought these for the shape, my other bikes have Salsa Bell Lap and Nitto Randonneur bars so the perpendicular OEMs were not what I am used to. The OEM bars weren't porky at 300g, Ridley 4ZA brand, the stem is Ok too. New bars all wrapped up now with matching tape.

Are these just lighter? Or will they improve the ride?

They do claim to be a little more compliant. I went from the alu version to the carbon ones, but changed a few other things at the same time, it's hard to tell if there's much real difference

Matching tape? TART! Looks ace.

Shape of these feels perfect for me. Very pleased. Not taped mine up yet though (will also be orange)... I always get it wrong, so waiting for some time to do it ... slowly.
