after a spate of punctures, and dealing with a small frame pump, I wanted something decent to carry on rides

Settled on a probiketool mini floor pump. Only available from amazon.

Amazon delivered an empty flat box. Obviously could never have held anything. Amazon didn’t want to know – gave me a refund, but didn’t seem to care.

Dropped a quick mail to probiketool to see if there was anything they could do, and just to let them know what was happening, and they turned around and sent me one, gratis and for nothing. Expedited delivery

Now that’s good service! And it does seem a lovely bit of kit.

Tl;dr – Amazon bad, probiketool good.

I don't really like the term snowflake, it's way over used. But here..........................

snowflake

you think?

You pay for a service, you don't get it, you (I) expect some acknowledgement they've made a mistake

The bit about Amazon was just an adjunct to how well I thought the other company handled it.

However, if I'm in the minority here, I'll bow gracefully out.

I like that all of their products look like Leyzene rip-offs, but no cheaper

Amazon is the epitome of the faceless giant retailer. I honestly would not expect any more or less from them. There was a mistake, they sorted it, end of. If you want a personal service choose a smaller retailer. Could you not buy the product directly from probiketools website?

I ordered some bits last week from a site I’d never heard of before (Cycle Miles) but happened to have what I wanted. Received the goods very promptly with a hand written note addressed to me wishing me well & thanking me for the business! Unusual but a nice touch!!

unfortunately not.

If you have any questions regarding orders and shipping please contact Amazon directly, as our products are provided through the “Fulfillment by Amazon” service.

but i like to buy from a small british company over a multinational like Lezyne, so i wanted to give them a go

Every time I've had to sort something with Amazon they've been dead friendly, usually, they give you a months free prime as well. Also the hassle I've had trying to get refunds before from ’friendly’ independent shops has been a joke, the fact Amazon just sort it should be appreciated.
