I thought one of the deals was for the dealer network that CRC couldn't sell Lapierre.
Although this looks like a lot of old stock, maybe offered into the network and no one was interested, so they dumped it via CRC..

I sell Lapierre and its a joke, they let us down all the time, never have stock that we want, sell out of key models in April and generally are a total pain to deal with.
I like the range and would stock more but dont due to the above.
You can only get into the private sales if you spend enough with them each year, I think.
Think of it as their way of saying you spend too much on your bike… says me with an invite 😛

Out of interest: Has anyone got a X-Flow? I was tempted by them when they came out, but I haven't seen any on the trails. I notice the 412 didn't get a great write up in MBR and I get the funny feeling that the pendbox is going to be fragile. But with 40% off I'm beginning to get an itchy mouse finger.....

I recently started working a few days a week in a small bike shop, there's just two of us, it's in a rural setting and a constant struggle to keep afloat - week to week, month to month. We stock lapierre and used to stock Ghost, We also do Ibis and recently Cy & Paul have agreed to let us have Cotic which we are really-really chuffed about as it's something i am fanatical/evangelical about, steel hardtails and a sensible steel FS bike, just ****g great!, sack off all this plastic fantastic fs nonesense 😀
We often buy stuff from Chain Reaction as it is cheaper than what we can get it from our suppliers, crazy way of doing things i realise but we don't have the cash or funds to demand better terms/conditions and it's a struggle to keep the business afloat but we both love bikes, being around them and servicing them and seeing folks faces when they ride them so we'll keep plugging away for minimum wage and hopefully we'll get somewhere with it.
Ghost we no longer sell as the importers/distributers take the piss with their end of year sales as how can i honestly sell a bike to a customer for £x amount then it is discounted by 50% at the end of the year?, that's less than we as a shop could buy it in, and to be perfectly honest i think they're shite, mass market fashion led lumps of alloy that belong in a littlewoods catalogue.
Lapierre are better i have to admit, their after service is great, they do make decent bikes that ride really well and despite their cock-up with moving production facilities and thus all the broken zestys, they do try hard to remedy every problem.
Ibis build fantastic riding FS frames, nuff said, we've sold a few nice custom builds and the customers absolutely love them.
Cotic are a bonus for us as we've only recently got them but the interest so far within the shop and our customers makes me very happy indeed, the first frame was sold within 15 mins of it arriving in the shop before xmas as someone was in with their son and as i hung it on the wall they wandered over to look at it and that was it - medium in black sold!. I love building bikes up and i know what works with what components for what riding style so Cotic is hopefully going to bring us some good luck when their delivery of frames arrive as we've got a few customers waiting on complete Soul builds and a few looking at the Solaris and X-Cross bike as well.
imnotverygood : the xflow is a good bike for the money, especially with such a discount, i'd have no qualms bout owning one in the slightest 😉

Id say that the % off the 2012 models represents the mark up which is decent on a bike. Maybe why they are overpriced to begin with?

did spot some discrepancies as some are advertised as 2012 but when you click on them they are actually older models i.e. 2010
and also the blurb for the Vouilloz DH frame says that it was developed by someone called "NICE VOUILLOZ"

The whole Hotlines thing was not to sell Lapierre through CRC to protect the dealers...
I'd be pretty p*ssed if I dealt with them, as that was a heavily laboured selling point.
As for the DH bikes, well at least you can be guaranteed a new one every few months when the backend cracks or comes unbonded 🙂

Everyone's assuming it's Hotlines' unsold stock- could be grey imports from anywhere in the world, especially if Hotlines aren't supposed to supply them. I'm not sure that the ownership setup could stop this.

Our local Lapierre dealer sent our club a similar list of bikes about a week ago. If you go direct to your lbs you will probably get a similar deal. There was a bargain 714 on there too.

yeah, have changed the stem, post and saddle (which i had lying around)... lovely lovely machine
new wheels next on the cards, the aksiums look great but under heavy load you really feel the flex.

"mine" is 2011, they have 2012's at lesser discount, or a 2012 ex-demo. Preferred the colours on the 2011 😳 😀 I already have 6700 Ultegra wheels on my current bike (alloy frame, 105 kit), so a straight wheel swap will leave me with nicely matching kit on the xelius (yes Ive been rationalising it for a while!).
