Weird options £89.99, but w/o BB it's £26.99, since when do they come with bb's, they stopped that years back,   very odd.  Great price though.

I'm out of the loop. What is this new 8 bolt direct ring system? Is that shimano only? Think I'd rather buy some second hand and stick with 104bcd where replacement rings are ten a penny

Ditto and my garage is choc full of bikes with just such cranks, except pretty much all the current manufacturers of cranks have shit-canned 104BCD, it's going to be 96mm asymmetrical (Shimano) or 94mm (SRAM) or various flavours of direct mount in years to come. Road and gravel are no better...

It's almost as if having perfectly good, largely harmonised standards across an entire industry wasn't driving enough sales. Progress eh?

Those bolts are factory only, the spider stays arranged and you replace the full chainring, so it's Shimano direct mount.

I've got a nice Unite ring on my Deore cranks.

I'm not sure any of them come with BB despite that option 'no bb'

Reading the Q&A's they do seem to come with a BB in the box

I heard that. Mine were fine for the year or so I ran that ring.

”I heard that. Mine were fine for the year or so I ran that ring.”

They definitely do fall out - stupid tiny little tamper-proof torx-head screws. I think all but three of mine disappeared before I realised. The replacement chainring cost more than that whole crankset.
