These came stock on my Marin Hawk Hill and are actually not bad, blimmin' excellent at this price.
I don't need any brakes but they look like a bargain.
They do look good - can you use Shimano mineral oil in them?
Was looking at some Shimano 2 pots, but those look way better.
Says they're mineral oil so I expect you can use Shimano oil.
They look like a copy of Shimano brakes anyway TBH.
Looks like they'll take Shimano pads, too
Wow! Wondered if there was a way to get these on my gravel bike. Hydraulic drop bar levers are expensive!!
They were spec'd on the Marin Alpine 7 last year and reviewers generally said quite nice things about them but they aren't as powerful as Shimano 4 Pots apparently. Dunno how much of that will be down to pad compound and rotors.
I've ordered a set for spares.
EDIT: They take shimano fluid and XT 4 pot pads so easy to get hold of spares.
Yes looks like they use the Saint/Zee pads - bonus as my other brakes are Saint & Zee.
They didn't stick around long!!
Jesus that’s mental.
Insanely cheap. Glag they are out of stock as I'd have ordered them even though I don't really need them.
My set turned up this morning.
Nondescript brown boxes, no manual, but they have pads and adaptors.
Looks like they are filled as they have plugs in the lever and hose.
The inserts (with dinky o-rings) are prefitted too.
Finish is Deore-ish level.
Proper bargin for 25notes an end.
Mine are due today.
Mine turned up too. One of them is connected up, one isn't, not that it matters too much with internal cable routing these days. They are EU style setup (rear brake is right lever) at the moment.
Look quite good.
Presumably can be bled with Shimano kit with the little screw-on oil bucket thing.
I only ordered a front which turned up today. Unfortunately it's Euro setup. 🙁 But I will probably just use the caliper on existing lever. Still a pretty good deal just for the caliper.
Anyone bled these yet?
Does the standard Shimamo bleed pot fit the lever?
From experience (have 2 sets of tektro on kids bikes) the shimano pot doesn't fit the bleed port on the levers. I use a 1" length of hose connected to the bleed adapter and push the shimano pot into the top which holds it upright. Bleeds perfectly well enough
Hmm definitely seems more of a trekking style lever on these. Lots of free stroke too.
I used a cheap generic bleed kit off ebay which was terrible. Maybe a proper bleed will reduce lever movement.
