I was just looking around for a 30.9 dropper for my new frame purchase, and found a good deal at Start Fitness.

The 150mm is £100 and the 170mm is £110.

Use the code EXTRA10 and you get 10% off.
So they end up £90 and £99 respectively.

Ta, I’d been keeping an eye on these on the chain reaction site to see if I could pick on up on sale but this is better. Less than I was expecting to pay and next day delivery.

Nice one I asked for one for Christmas but Santa didn’t oblige so I may order one on Tuesday when I get paid.

Does anyone know if the 150mm will fit in a medium giant trance frame? Mine is a 2017 and the giant dropper cartridge has failed.

Just received one from them, bit disappointed with the amount of fore/aft play. Will be contacting them tomorrow.

It should do, had to take the 150mm dropper off my canyon as it was a touch too high even at maximum insertion. Its spot on in the hardtail though. I can pop down with a 150mm brand x to try if it's of use and your still in bfd.

Thanks Jay, I'm OK. I used an old non-dropper seatpost to measure the depth and it will fit.

No problem Dallas.

Had a few of these over the years, there is a bit of play in them but never bothered me or caused any issues. They have been much more reliable than any reverb I've had.

If you’re after a 120mm drop take a look at these for £59.99. Exactly the same as the Brand X. No leaver included though.

Mine came today 31.6/150mm for £89.99. Only a tiny bit of play in mine if you pull on it pretty hard and all nice and smooth with a quick return. It's replacing the Nukeproof OKLO which was always slow to return but has now moved to a snails pace.
Anothe bonus the OKLO weighs 738gms the brand-x a svelte 604gms. Win, win 😁

@cyclelife Let us know how you get on!

I bought mine from there, cos they were cheaper. I've heard how fuss-free CRC have been with warranty replacements for these droppers and I'm hoping any returns via Start Fitness are just as easy.

What's the minimum length insertion for the 150mm dropper? Wondering if one will fit on my sons vitus nucleus 2019?

I've got two and they both have more play than other (popular) droppers and more than I would like in an ideal world.

I can see why people have returned them. It's more than you would expect and more than some people are used to. They do work fairly reliably non the less but there's nothing wrong with being honest about a manufactured products performance.

It's definitely a shortcoming and something that could do with improving!

Thanks for the PSA and also to Poopscoop for the dimensions - saved me some faffing!

For the cost of a service of my Reverb (before postage both ways) I've got a post that I can stick in the bike while I see if I can service the Reverb myself.

Si
