Much to my amazement, having forgotten they'd gone on sale yesterday, I found entries to the ArdMoors still available. They usually sell out immediately so if anyone still fancying a crack, go get 'em....

i know Ard Rock sells out in seconds. Was always under the impression that Moors was slightly less popular.

Regardless of this.... i have a ticket! whoop whoop.

Is it me, or is it much earlier in the year than usual? Or have i got that totally wrong?

Was quite keen until I read this:

covering around 2500 meters of combined climbing and descending for the full Enduro

What the **** does this even mean?
Morons

I got a ticket on impulse, was surprised there were tickets still available late on Sunday. Daft prices as usual, but thought I'd give it a go as I've not done it before. Cost of living biting people I'd say, maybe people are more picky about what they enter.

absolutely. I decided not to go abroad riding this year, so am doing a few more UK based events. Still not cheap, but a chunk less than going to europe. Even if i do have FOMO as my buddies still are 🙁

Physically the toughest one I've done but if its dry the stages are brilliant. There are a couple of character building hikeabikes.

I would say the primary reason for it not selling out, is 'that' hike-a-bike about halfway round, climbing out of a valley bottom back to the road.

It is brutal!

I thought I was fairly bike fit until I attempted this last year. The cramp kicked in after the big hike and I never recovered. Decided to retire after stage 4 🙁

oh cripes.... not looking forward to it quite so much now!

We talking proper bike on back hike-a-bike? Or just lots of pushing and walking?

That one transition has some properly steep bits that an eBike walk mode can't handle. It's also a lot of steps, so hike-a-bike is best. I had a hardtail and think that was the right choice!

v7fmp - there is one of each. That isn't a complaint from me, it was a cracking day out on and off the bike. The guy behind me was wearing some kind of carbon ankle brace and carrying an Eeb with double crowns so I couldn't really complain 🙂

I'm doing the Sprint with my lad (as he's not old enough for the full) it is only one stage less I'm hoping it's the one with the brutal climb!

I can't make it this year. Was hoping it would be in Sept but they've brought it forward meaning about 8 of us can't do it.
First did it in 2017 with all that rain, surprised we ever went back!

Ardrock is running a couple of weeks earlier than I would expect as well. Maybe it will be less wet!!

i guess the reason its not sold out is its only 9 weeks off and people will have other commitments,
tickets have previously been issued november/december time when you could buy the ticket and mark it in the diary.

i'm really wanting to ride it, dont think i'll get to practise if i do go up

ps it is a tough ride, both physcially and mentally, we were all knackered having put 3k metres in the legs earlier that week in spain

pps. for those who dont like hike a bike, after stage 3, ride back to base and then upto the final stage and take a right across the flat moorland to stage 4, imho their should be a stage/bleeper section on the hikeabike climb, avoid those cheating
