The BruKit is like a cheap JetBoil is it?

Looks like they are Kovea stoves:

I hope Alpkit will be stocking spares. Good stoves, but when they go wrong you're stuffed. Speaking from experience here.

Having got the email I ordered a Brukit then came on to STW to do a PSA...too slow as always!

So what gas canisters do they fit and where can I buy them from? How many meals/brews worth will I get from a canister (I appreciate that's a how long's a piece of string kind of question)?

Hey Marko,

It's not Kovea, but as with the Kraku we released last year is produced by Fire Maple, who are establishing themselves as a respected stove manufacturer. We state this on our site as we know people are going to see through it if we try and hide anything, what it does mean is that we can hopefully continue to offer a high level of quality and start developing more of a cookware range that fits in well with what we do and can offer our customers.

We of course hope people like the product.

Alpkit Col.

To answer my own question, is this the kind of thing?

Headfirst,

yes a screw valve canister. We'd recommend going for the 250 though due to the height of the BruKit, as it would give more stability.

Just bought one.

The Firemaple one is £70 elsewhere so the Alpkit price is a bargain!

Need some good boil in the bag recipes now.

well they went quickly. BruKits all sold out on the site now.

so will alpkit order 3x as many next time, or just bump the price up a bit instead 😉

BruKits all sold out on the site now.

That's normal for Alpkit. Decent stuff but seems to be only a couple days a year you can actually make a purchase!

I have a BruPot and Koro stove (FireMaple branded a few months ago).

The Alpkit stuff looks a bit nicer and you don't pay any more for the UK supply and backup.

One of the key points with the BruPot is it's the right diameter for a 300g* gas cannister - so I can fit the gas and a few other bits in the pot with the burner external. Perfect.

Top stuff 🙂

*will check when I get home and post back if this is wrong
