Just ordered thanks.
Long dispatch times though.
Hope they come a bit earlier?

unlikely. it think the business model is that they gather orders, place a bulk order with the supplier and then distribute.

I saw that, thought it was a bit odd. I'd assumed that knee pads would be left/right leg specific.

Lightweight helments are in xl only sadly otherwise they looked really good.

Yes as above business model is generally long lead times on unsold stock, I stopped using it as too many emails and probably only 1 or 2 decent sales per year.

FYI its impossible to delete your account (well it was and I asked them directly)

Check CRC before ordering they have some of these items at the same price. But not the knee pads which Jnr wants.

Just went for the knee pads. I can cope with the lead time, but I do need new knee protection.

Oh ta. Just bought the carbon one. My old 661 is about 10 years old and it's probably due for retirement. Gets used < 5 times a year but if I use it 'properly' one time, I'd like it to be effective!

Knee pads are being sold individually as single items and not as a pair. Just heard back from Sport Pursuit.

Are they not handed?

[edit]

that's bloody daft. How many monopeds will be buying these things? Just so they can get the headline prince to look like a massive reduction? Pathetic.

are you sure they haven't misunderstood you? they would come from 661 as a pair.

edit. i take it back, theyve updated the description on the website. I reckon there will be some miffed buyers when they ship out...

Definitely individually - from SP below

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch. These are sold individually and not as a pair so I've cancelled the order for as requested.

Kind regards,

Well worth signing up if you ever get stuff that you're not in a rush for.
I'd guess the customer services reps are wrong on this one but with the cost to ship and return I'm not going to be taking the risk.

Surely the stated RRP and savings is wrong if they are single? Could you get a full refund on that basis if you ordered?

Just checking... There are some items that had "(pair)" listed next to them, are these items no longer being sold as a pair?

That's gotta be a cock up surely. Who sells pads singularly? I've got some 661 pads and they're left/right specific... It not like you can order either side on there.

Course it's a cockup on the website/customer services..

Do you really think somebody back at hq announced "I've got a great wheeze, lets sell stuff that usually comes in pairs singly. We'll start with kneepads, see how it goes, then maybe move onto gloves."

Everything is returnable anyway, I've sent stuff back after 2 months. SP is very good at dealing with returns and warranties anyway.

Maybe if it was P-X though.....

Yup, it's a cock up.

Just received my package of the Rage knee pads and, guess what? The two packages each contain two knee/shin pads, but one is tucked inside the other so they look like a single.

Just about to try them on to see if they fit, but unless my brother in law wants a pair, they are going back.

I will say though that if you only ordered one, you got a bargain.

Glad you checked properly. I was just about to send my single knee pad back until I read this and found the second one

Well, their loss. I got a set of pads for 25 quid and my little sis gets a pair as well. I class that as a saving to be honest.

I made the same error. Postman just delivered... And I am now the owner of 4 large AM knee pads.

I'm hoping a similarly proportioned mate will take a set off my hands

My 661 Full Face arrvied today, it's not SPs fault, but it's crap, plasticy, flexy, uncomfortable crap.

I'm comparing it to a helmet I paid roughly 10x the price for 9 years ago, but I hate it - I'm off to the Alps in a few days, I've got to decide whether to take a worn, tired, chipped and scraped D2 from 2007 or a brand new Fisher Price 661 that hurts to put on and off.
